The dial on the X post is different than the one Carlito is wearing - looks like the meteorite dial on his wrist.

I agree with this.

I saw him a year or two ago wearing this same watch … Gold with White (whiteish) Dial and Black (solid) Sub Dials.

Since the White Dial version has ring sub dials, this has to be the …

Daytona 116518 Yellow Gold with Meteorite Dial.

Youngest to win on all three surfaces.

He didn’t play his best tennis, but didn’t have to.

And first player in the open era to win his first three slams on different surfaces, none of the big three managed to do that, if he can excel on all three courts then he could reach new limits, esp if he doesn't have great competition like the big three had with each other.

I didn’t know that

If he stays healthy he could have quite a run indeed

Yup and if like Federer he gets a Roddick as his main rival for a few years then he should rack up 10 majors just like that.

Roddick … there’s a name I haven’t heard in a while. Used to love watching him play.

He could’ve won a bunch of majors if as you say not for Federer.

I always thought he would’ve made a great commentator like McEnroe.

Are you sure it is his? Watch is not sized properly to his wrist. I heard that due to his contract with Rolex he should wear their watch when taking a picture with the trophy. But that might not be necessarily what he is wearing daily.

He has the 116 meteorite dial model and a 116500LN black dial as well.
Huge win today, magnificent player!

I saw the advert immediately after the match on the first commercial cut (US version on NBC) and wondered if that was gonna be the watch. Sure enough it was, but agree different dial. Thought meteorite, but wasn't sure.

I believe Iga was wearing 18K Ladies' DateJust in Everose yesterday for her trophy hoisting ceremony.

Congrats to both. Men's match a bit more of a contest than Iga's tour de force.

Rolex sponsors these events and throws a watch on the winner. It MIGHT be his - as in Rolex gave it to him - but I doubt he picked it out and paid for it himself.

Not strictly true in all cases. Rolex Testimonee stuff has a few limitations, and is very different to how other brands such as Omega operate. It’s true that they have big paid deals with certain people, such as Federer, who I believe is on an open-ended $10-15m p/a contract with Rolex. It’s my understanding that this is very rare, and a lot of the other testimonees do indeed have to buy their own watches, and are not involved in such large sums on their contracts.(Fairly sure they don’t have to wait on the same waiting lists as little ol’ us!) Alcaraz has also been seen wearing a 116500LN Black dial at the US Open in 2022.

A perfect example would be Jenson Button, who is a testimonee and has spoken before about specifically “buying” Rolex watches for him and his family.

This is kind of the point about them using the term “testimonee” rather than “partner” or “representative”. They want these certain people to be true, lifelong representatives of the brand, rather than just paid influencers. Quite smart.

Also I guess the reason they didn’t use the meteorite dial in the official congratulations advert after the match, is because technically, it no longer exists in the catalogue. The 12 ref Daytona does not (yet) have any meteorite dials
