The Perfect 2

Hello! Went through a ton of watches to get to these 2. Was not patient enough to wait for what I really wanted. I have learned for me my watches moving forward:

-has to be a ceramic bezel
-has to be a black dial
-has to be SS
-has to look good in all lighting

Had Datejust 41 white, black and blue - but always missed the black dials and ceramic bezels.

Settled for the root beer while waiting for the BLNR, but they are way better in photos, in real life the brown was a light milky brown. Didn’t bond with TT.

Had the bluesy 3 times, but did not like it in bright light as the dial looked light blue, neon. Also didn’t bond with TT.

Learned to be patient and get what you want. Always the no date sub, to me the perfect watch. Picked up from my AD the BLNR + jubilee. The blue is the best blue Rolex makes in my opinion and looks good in both light and dark, which didn’t happen with the root beer and bluesy for me. It is the perfect combo of my datejust and sub, best watch I ever had.

Spoke to my AD after the purchase, next up will be the sub LV to add green and Daytona SS black dial. Sticking to my true want list. Pumped!

A Sub and a GMT, all you'd ever need.

I can argue a better pair as I had the same but no diamonds, but I am addicted to ceramic bezels!

I have SubDate and BLNR on jubilee. Daytona and DD40 are next up. Waiting on the call. I agree with you on ceramic bezel.

I am trying to get the Starbucks, looking like this year but later this year. No super rush, happy with what I have now. But really love that green against the black dial!

I've been considering the same for my BLNR to enable me to explore other horological interests, so you would advise against this in hindsight?

I would pick one of those and then add a DateJust or DayDate. Those two look too similar in my opinion.

While I thought the same (used to have the datejust 41) I realized I needed a ceramic bezel to enjoy the watch. The dial is similar, but for me they are very different watches otherwise. Also my goal is to collect from the 3 models I like (Sub, Gmt and Daytona). The blue dial datejust was beautiful, but just didn’t sit with me well for some reason.

It's a good pairing. I prefer my SD43 with my GMT LN, but to each their own.
