This 2-million case ref 6262 is rather special, because Rolex UK's service department themselves chose to denote in writing that it had a "Paul Newman dial," without my having used or requested any such terminology.

I have to say that aesthetically I find the PNs something of a case of "the emperor's new clothes" and I prefer the simplicity of a nice 6238, silver or black.

Thankyou

This shot illustrates a few of them a couple of years ago, but there have been significant additions since then. My problem is that insurers have now insisted that the collection is split up over a number of my jewellery store locations so that a group shot is a problem.

When I'm in the mood I do get some individuals out for a daylight shot, but just a bit busy at the moment :

Now, back to the lovely Daytonas!

Honestly Haywood, your collection leaves me speechless every time I see a photo of it.....any ONE of your pieces would be the crown jewel of any collection!!

Between you and Mike Wood I struggle to keep my eyes from popping out of my head - thanks for sharing!

That's it! I'm going to say the unsayable: I much prefer the look of the non-PN dials. The standard dials are a lot simpler to read on a multi-function watch and no matter how much the market and internet fora may have told me over twenty years that the emperor's new clothes are something special, I just don't like them so much.

I'll get my coat and leave by the tradesman's entrance, while someone tears up my membership and erases my name from the honours board.

No disrespect intended to those who have and love the PNs; I can appreciate the rarity and reasons why one might love them.

I won't blame you for having your opinion about th PN's. To show I have no animosity toward you I'll happily even take you PN dialed Daytona off your hands.
