GMT-Master II "Coke" ceramic

Hi guys, so there was plenty of pre-Basel speculation (and crossed fingers) that this watch may be announced and of course it wasn't. Question 1. How annoyed would people be if Rolex were to announce it eventually but in YG instead of SS for example? Question 2. If they did indeed keep the "Coke" for a PM model, which other colour scheme would you like to see in SS? Whether a colour we've had before or something totally new.

I had friends who were waiting to see what happened at Basel before taking the plunge (or not) on a BLNR or LN and the lack of a "Coke" announcement has since forced their hand so to speak. I'm sure it's impacted the UK market as well as the BLNR seems harder to find, and more expensive, at grey dealers in the last month or so.

I know this is all speculation of course but the GMT is such a popular watch and it'd be fun and interesting to see what people think. Cheers.

Basel is over. No more coke gmt threads allowed .

I could see the coke gmt coming out in white gold or platinum and i still think that is more likely. Pepsi was an iconic design and so is coke so why would they put one in PM and not the other? You never know with Rolex tho...SS skydweller was a pleasant surprise.

I honestly don't think any other color scheme SS GMT will top the blnr. The blue and black is just superb and I would choose blnr over coke every day. Coke does nothing for me.

I'd love to see a two tone "root beer" ceramic. Had the Coke been announced I'd have put a deposit down. Staying with my 16710 Pepsi for now.

1. Pretty deflated I think.

2. Blueberry.

I don't think Rolex can pull off the a Coke bezel in ceramic, that's my reasoning as to why we didn't see it.
The Skydweller becoming available in SS this year hints at the fact precious metal watches aren't selling in the quantities Rolex would have hoped. If this is the case then it adds weight to the hope for many that if the Coke is released ever, it could well be in SS.

Like others I was hoping a Coke in SS would be released, but I'm over it now, and in all probability over the whole Coke GMT thing for good. Can't live in hope forever and now even if it is eventually released, I'll likely pass. I have a couple of 16710's with Coke bezels and for me, they are enough.

I won't be holding my breath for this model any longer. Hopeful excitement has now been replaced with the realisation that ceramic just doesn't cut it when it comes to attempting to replace the beautiful colour tones of the previous 16710 bezels that made this watch what it is today.

I'd now rather see Rolex release a modern retro version of the GMT with a sapphire bezel where they can get the colours more in keeping with the models of yesteryear, but with all the improvements of modern manufacturing. But I won't hold my breath for that either.

Sapphire lumed bezel Pepsi retro would be a nice. I would take a ceramic coke too but would like lume on the bezel.

High grade polished titanium, at least on the bracelet, might end scratch issues. I don't think I would like a PM tool watch but titanium still seams toolish to me...Rolex...listen to me!!!

I didn't think it would be out this year but I think it's likely in the next couple and more sure it will be in SS after the SkyD issue. I think the PepC is more likely to be issued in YG and RG.

Agreed with what most of you guys said, I think people will stop caring about it and will just take the plunge on the BLNR now instead. I think I'm seeing this effect in the UK already as grey dealer prices seem to be creeping up and stock levels getting lower than they already were. For instance the last new BLNR on watchfinder.co.uk was over 2 weeks ago and was going for £7750, I haven't seen one since. In comparison I got mine for £7350 wth stickers, box and papers in February
