Sub 41 AR question.

Having not seen the under-crystal AR on the new Subs in person before procuring one, I was a little concerned it would have a tint. Nothing irks me more than seeing a beautifully understated, monochrome, black dialed steel watch, with a garish turquoise AR coating. (I’m talking to you IWC!)

I was thrilled to receive the 124060 with a noticeably clearer crystal than my previous 116610, but without a hint of AR tinting.

How did they do it? And why on earth aren’t more manufacturers using colorless AR, and keeping it under the crystal?

my seamaster crystal looks much clearer than my BLNR crystal. There is some haze without AR coating. Hoping Rolex moves all references to AR coated crystals.

I can't speak to the color aspect, but I was a bit let down at how reflective the new Sub still is. Honestly, it seems to reflect just as much as my non-coated Seiko when I set the two side by side in the same conditions. To be clear, I don't want coating on the outside of a sport watch, but there is a reason manufacturers (even Rolex (Cellini)) coat inside and out.
