Just got my First Rolex at 16!

Hello,
I am obviously new to the forums but I am excited to be a part of the Rolex world. I just got my first Rolex about one week ago from an AD. It is a Submariner Ref. 114060.

Congrats, a very solid choice to start your Rolex journey. I'm guessing it won't be your last. You'll probably be back on here on your 21st birthday with your new Daytona.

First of all, thank you. Secondly, it's funny you mention this not being my last. I am actually looking at the new Sea Dweller. I'm really loving that watch right now, especially with the red "SEA-DEWLLER" text. I am hoping to get one as soon as I can get my hands on one.

Congrats!

Although I would recommend to slow down, watches are meant to be used, enjoyed and to be by your side at special moments. Enjoy it, you have a real stunner there that could easily last you your lifetime.

While I applaud your choice of a Rolex, I question why you felt it necessary to announce your age.

Just trying to show that some teens have taste and can respect high end watches. I know my generation is certainly not the greatest...

Don't you think it's an important part of the incoming "story"? How many here owned a Rolex at the age of 16? Without that detail included in the post, it would be just another new member with a new SubC as his first Rolex. Hardly unique until you see he's only 16. Kinda makes the story somewhat intriguing. Unless the purchase was self funded, I'd love to know about the parents (or other gifter) who somehow thought it was a good idea for a 16 yo kid to have a brand new Rolex. I personally don't see any justifiable reason, but I'm sure there are plenty of others who see no issue with it.

I'd also like to know the background story.
But regardless, congrats to the OP and welcome to TRF.

I think maybe because that's one sure fire way to start a TRF wind up thread?
