GMTIIC vs Milguass: Help me choose my last watch purchase of the year!

Ok guys... no more watches after this one. This is it, the last one for a while. I'm going to place myself on a self-imposed ban. I just sold my Tag Heuer Monaco and am now looking to once again make my collection a trio.

Choices are as in the above poll.

When voting, take into account the overall appeal, the resale value, future resale value.

Also please take into account that I have 2 watches (the Sub and the Panerai 312) that I rotate between. This watch will have to fit the rotation in some way, shape, or form.

My thinking:
GMTIIC
Pros:
- The watch that I've been always wanting to add to my collection.
- Ceramic bezel is "shiny".
- GMT feature.
- I like the polished links - being a 3rd watch, it won't be exposed as much as it would if it were my only piece.
- Very good resale value and good market demand if I had to sell.
- Date feature.
Cons:
- More expensive.
- Looks sorta similar to my Submariner.

Milgauss:
Pros:
- A bit different than the typical sport Rolex.
- Green (GV) color is very prominent, one of my favorite colors is green.
- Lightning hand - a bit gimmicky, but it adds a bit of flare to my collection.
- GV is rare-ish.
- PCL
Cons:
- No rotatable bezel for time keeping.
- No extra function.
- No date.
- Polished bezel may be a problem for scratches.
- GV has good resale value, the normal black Milgauss has a horrid resale value.
- Less market demand in the for sale section (will this last?).

I would have said a gmt11c but it is similar (sorta) to the 16610.

My vote would be for a white daytona perhaps so you have a chrono and a white face just to mix it up a bit.But thats even more pricey than the gmt11c.Maybe a 16610LV for something different.

Wait... let's place a budget on this. It's gotta be less than a Daytona. All watches have to be less than 6K in the used market.

GMT IIC gets my vote. The GMT IIC could be the best SS watch Rolex makes. I am a Sub guy I love them. Being honest the GMT IIC is impressive.

I would love to have the GV someday, but if you can choose only one, I vote GMT2C. More versatile. Good luck!

I've voted for the SS GMT IIC. And I don't think it's so similar to a Sub Date. However, in the case in Basel 2010 there'll be a new & updated Explorer II unveiled, then I'll switch my vote to that.

If you didn't have a Sub, I'd say maybe you should consider a Deep Sea - you seem to like Panerai ;) so clearly big watches are not a problem for you.

As for the GMT IIc, I can't say anything but good things about mine, and the date function and the look of the ceramic bezel raise it above the Milgauss (even the GV), IMHO.

Good luck!

There needed to be a fourth choice - "BOTH" in the poll. I would have checked it as I alternate wearing the Milgauss and the GMT2C at work. Both are comfortable on my large wrist.

Joey, just spend more and get the daytona once and for all. Since you said that after this purchase, you won't buy watches for a while..

Or, since you have already stated you want to spend less than $6000, you can get a Speedmaster and spend less than HALF of your budget and have the most historical and interesting (my opinions, of course) chronograph ever made.

both are great choices... and great resell value on the second hand market currently.
You are right in saying that GMT2C is similar to your Sub...
I would just go with the GV in this case... since you have the sub.
Although, GMT2C is my personal favorite and the next one on my list.

I'm surprised the Milgauss is getting a good amount of vites, the GMTIIC is building a lead though.
