116610LV or 216570

Hi,

I am contemplating whether to get the 116610LV (HULK) or 216570(NEW EX II)?

Which is more collectable?

Please advice?

Neither no modern day Rolex could be thought of as collectible perhaps in 30 -40 years time so just buy the watch you want its that simple. Then after wearing the watch for many years in good health,if you need to sell. And if that sale gives you a good return on price bought, just think of it as a bonus on wearing one of the finest watches made today.

X2

I would probably chose the explorer between these two. I have a 16610 LV, but I am not a fan of the latest version because of the all green dial.

But it is more important for you to chose the one you like the most. Your the one who will be wearing it.

Ditto!

buy the watch you want to wear, not the watch you want to sell.

I personally like the Sub's (no matter the color). They wear well, and are very versatile. However, you need to go try them on and see what you can live with everyday. When in doubt--buy both

I'd go for the 216570! That orange hand with the white dial and the black trim on the markers and hands, really looks gorgeous! Here's a shot of the 216570 from Baselworld 2011, shot by my favorite YouTube channel "KeepTheTime". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jAXOF...feature=fvwrel

I will buy the new EXPII in a heartbeat if I have the fund. The current version actually is cool enough for me. However, I like the 42mm version better and the orange hand looks amazing.

I agree with the above, purchase what you like to wear and enjoy and forget about the value... I like both but currently have the 116610 LV so I am biased

That's a tough one....the fat lugs are a real problem for me on the sub, but, the hulk is so great, I'd overlook it.

But, if you want something for every day or if it's your only Rolex, I'd go black dial 216570.

Good luck! Can't go wrong here.

Both are widely produced watches. Neither are collectable.

I would pick Sub LV

Neither for collecting. Exp II as the thick lugs now look proportioned to the case due to the larger case. Plus I prefer 42mm watches, and nice to have a white dialed watch.
