De-maxi cased GMTIIC with Pics

Maybe old news, but this guys grinded down the lugs on his GMTIIC to more resemble the old style...

Flip or flop?

http://www.philippinewatchclub.org/f...hilit=nip+tuck

Middle watch is the GMTIIC with modified lugs...

The big lugs are the reason I no longer have my GMTIIC. I actually like it but I could not bring myself to do this to my watch because it is not original or genuine.

It might be my eyes, but is the centre one non genuine, the numbers on the bezel look a little different to font on the one on the left, has he ground down a copy gmtc .you wouldnt do it to a real one you would knacker the value

Trust me, the watch is genuine. The owner is a personal friend of mine and I can vouch it's authenticity. And the shaved lugs are proportional in width size as careful measurements were done to achieve this "nip and tuck" procedure.

Cheers!

Not to offend you mate but you're wrong, I personally know the owner of the watch as well and he would never even think about buying a fake Rolex, heck the guy owns a few ALS and has been collecting Rolex for decades. In the end, to each his own.

It really looks ok but . . . . . I would never do with mine (even that I don't own one . . . yet ?)

I am going to have an Nespresso ;-)

Thanks for chiming in man it's not for everyone I agree, but I think it was worth the risk and the effort for my part I understand how some would not do it but I don't get the sacriligouos comments of others. it's like they bought the watch for me and I Charged them for the mod

The chorus of jeers makes me like the watch even more. If you people only knew how you sounded.

Is it me or does the top lug look a lot smaller then the bottom lug?

Why would you make the watch look older than what it is? I expect mine to look like that in 40 years.

perhaps owner wanted all the upgrades -- ceramic bezel, clasp, etc -- ALL except for the lugs!

my beef with the GMT is not the lug size, it's the flashy size and fonts of the bezel insert and that's unchanged - unfortunately

That was the exact reason I discounted the GMTIIc myself a few months ago.

However, took the plunge on one last week and its not been off my wrist since. I love it.

I prefer my GMTc they way it came. Lugs are fine, and many people don't realize they are more narrow than on the SubC.
