Rolex Selling Women Short?
While talking with my wife last night I actually heard something other than (yak..blather..yak..white noise..yak..moan..complain) because she threw in the word Rolex while I was pretending to listen. J/K! She was talking about why she liked her midsize over her TT Date and how she would love to have a SUB/GMT/YM in a smaller size. I showed her a ladies YM and she pointed out that while the face size is smaller, the watch is just too thick and out of proportion...IHO. She also stated that she has a use for the moving bezel, but does not have a need for 300m. For her use, 100m would be just fine as she wll never dive. She wants to know why Rolex does not make a slimmer sport watch for women?

What came to my mind:
Get her a Turn O' Graph! It is smaller than the Sub, dressier, WR to 100 metres, and would look great on a female wrist (I suggest the WHITE dial!)

You're quite right....I suppose Rolex just assumes ladies will go for the classic datejust style. But there are lots of gals out there who would love to wear the sports models too!
At least there's the mid-size YM as an option! Personally I'm enamored with the 40mm size and it doesn't stop me from wearing them. I'm comfortable with the size. I think a TOG is a great idea for your wife. Quite sporty at 36mm! |

I think it's not just Rolex, look at Panerai, Patek, JLC....
I guess watch manufacturers do not think that enough women appreciate complicated mechanical devices (e.g. watches, sports cars) |
