Daytona 1986 Big Red 6265 $836.00

this daytona was purchased from a gentleman who bought the watch in 1986 in New York City and put it away because as a young man he was shy to wear it. He paid $836.00

Bought with box papers and original receipt

it was added to my private collection in october 2013,
nothing like it

Nice watch. I used to own a 6265 with box and papers purchased from Little Switzerland in St. Marten for I believe around $790.00.
Enjoy it.

Let me guess...you paid just a bit more than that to own it yourself.

It's a beauty.

Wow what a stunner. Sounds like you got a sweet deal as well. I love buying from original owners.

Wow, what a beautiful watch!! And a complete set, to boot! Must be one of the last ones, from '86. I wish it was my birth year, but I'd love to have it anyway to celebrate the Mets' last (ever?) World Series victory.

Ultra affordable back in the day, though if everyone who could, did, they'd be ten-a-penny now.

$836 in '86 seems unusually cheap for that era...I had no clue they went for so little in the 80's...so in '86 how much was a new Sub?

I agree. I was under the impression that by the mid-80s, prices had broken the 4 figure mark. I recall reading something that Subs and Explorers were right at $1K around 83-84.

Welcome to TRF!

Sweet Watch! Nice add to your collection.

What other watches do you have in your collection and any good stories to go with them?
