Explorer 2 216570 Review
Here Is My Review Of The Explorer 2 216570
REFERENCE: 216570 MODEL CASE Oyster, 42 mm, steel OYSTER ARCHITECTURE Monobloc middle case, screw-down case back and winding crown DIAMETER 42 mm MATERIAL 904L steel BEZEL Fixed, 24-hour graduated I will make this one quick and highlight the pros and the cons just in case anyone is on the fence. Pros: White dial looks really nice with the orange accents Easy to read the dial Lume looks fantastic against the white dial in moderate lighting conditions Fits nicely under all sleeves Larger case size still looks good on my 6.5" wrist Very comfortable to wear as it has a lower profile than many other sports models, excluding Daytona Looks sporty to me Easylink extension on bracelet Brushed lugs and bracelet Not top heavy, very balanced feel on the wrist Cons: Steel bezel prone to scratching Not very dressy in my opinion...does not work with sports jackets and the like Twinlock crown, although larger than previous models So after a couple weeks wearing this watch and a recent trip with it I must say it is a pleasure to wear. The GMT hand came in useful and overall the watch was very comfortable. At the gym, out for drinks or at work its just a pleasure. I just don't like wearing it when I am dressed up a little. It seems to clash. I think the black dial may be a better choice in this regard. Setting the time is easy with the jump hour hand, setting date is as per usual Rolex watches and setting the GMT/minute hand is done in the 3rd crown position and simple as well. I would truly recommend this watch to anyone that is looking for an alternative to the Sea Dweller, Sub, GMT etc as they all have a very similar look. This watch has become one of my absolute favourites and for some reason it seems like its more fun than the other sports models. It doesn't take itself too seriously but you know its up for the task if need be. A solid 9.5/10 |

Great review and pics! Since getting my polar Explorer II, it has hardly left my wrist. In fact, the only time was when it went to Dallas RSC for regulation. Other watches are getting lonely and feeling resentful.....

Great review!
The Explorer is my 'go to' watch, just so wearable & distinctive with a style all to itself & whilst I love the Sub & all Rolex's I feel the Explorer just has the edge on the others for me! So much so I was in my AD on Sunday looking at the black dial, my next purchase for sure! |

So you would have both the white and the black in your stable.....that is a wonderful idea...best of both worlds |

Nice review, thanks
The 216570 is a great watch but I wish it had a Triplock crown

There is plenty to grab on to and it sits nicely within the crown guards without prodruding too much |
