The Rolex Daytona has a date function

My watch buddy from Hong Kong uses the stopwatch hand of the chronograph to indicate the date on his Daytona.
A second on the dial reads the date

Some of you may have been using this all along, but I learned something new.
I lost a LARGE pint to him tonight

Each minute index is 1 second on the stop watch.
By moving the stop watch 1 second shows the corresponding index as the date.
For example:
When the stopwatch hand is at 4 seconds, stop it. That's the 4th.
Advance a second a day and go from there.

You can also use the sub dial at 3 o'clock, that will be a minute of the stop watch for the date.
If you like, the 9 o'clock sub dial can also show the month.

Another Daytona trick: when you travel, start the chrono when it's 12:00 at your destination. The hour register is now your second time zone.
Awesome!

What date is it when it gets to 32?[/QUOTE]

You don't really, since it's manual flyback at 30/31.

Yes. I know some people around here also use the bezel on their Subs in a similar fashion to indicate the date.

Tudor Heritage Chrono

In context to the old thread, it displays the date at 6 o'clock.

I would find it much easier to remember the date then to squint and try and figure out exactly where that chrono hand is.
