I heard something interesting

As I was speaking to a friend who is a novice to the Rolex world, not that I'm an expert, but I heard something that was quite funny (in a positive way).

He was told to buy Rolex from Switzerland with client code 10 or the other Switzerland codes as that denotes that every component was made and assembled there and therefore genuinely Swiss made.

I have been here on the forum for a few years and have bought a total of 5 Rolex all with different client codes and none from Switzerland and never doubted how genuine each part and its assembly were.

Should I be concerned now?

He must be right. So all Rolexes bought outside Switzerland are assembled in China. Makes sense.

Your friend must work for NewsCorp. Their newspapers read like SciFi.

Ah, another expert.

I suppose if you wanted to get real pickey, there was a time when bracelets were made in different countries. USA and Mexico come to mind. There was also a time when watches coming to the US had a different amount of jewels for importation purposes.

What exactly happened to cause you to wonder if you should be concerned? Somebody (who you said was a novice to Rolex) said something? Please...

Not concerned at all. Just a sarcastic question following what I heard today.

I just stayed quiet and didn't bother answering to what he said about the client code issue. Just thought I'd share what I heard with fellow members.

At least this thread is different than your typical "price increase" thread.
