Thank you for posting an honest Rolex thread instead of all the fluff we get now.

I started off my Rolex meanderings with an A s/n Expl. II Polar. It's long gone now but the new one is on my hunting list as the pre-owned cost drops.

I thought it was nicely done, but it wasn't very critical... No inanimate object, especially a mechanical one, is perfect. The piece came off as more of a fact sheet than a critical review--just fyi... Nonetheless, it was an enjoyable read, and probably especially helpful to a novice seeking facts on the reference.

Stellar write up / pictures.

I'm Inching closer and closer to pulling the trigger on the polar version - but my logical side keeps telling me to consider the black because it 'might' be more versatile. Decisions decisions

As my first white dial sport watch, the 216570 polar has quickly become one of my favorites in my collection due to its ease of legibility and remarkable lume. I'd initially balked at the purchase years ago as the EXP2 Polar didn't seem to be as popular due to its lack of a cerachrome bezel and the fixed nature of the bezel, but something kept drawing me back to the polar dial which I found to be mesmerizing. In my heart, I'm more of tool/sport watch kind of guy and much more low-key in nature. Finally decided to pull the trigger on the piece and couldn't be more happy. Thanks for sharing the review.

That was a great review of my favorite watch!

I have both the White & Black dial versions of the same.

I've had other Rolexes and other watches.....but the 216570 is the best (for me) I've ever found.

I wore a white 40mm Explorer-2 for about 20 years and when the 216570 came out about 5 years ago I tried to resist the urge.
I failed and then bought a second one.
