Two Watches is all I need
Just wanted to share my small collection and thoughts.
All I need is a steel stunner in this case the YM + a robust rubber watch that can take a serious beating and in this department nothing beats a good gshock ( I considered a Seiko Monster on rubber). I feel happy with this simple setup although down the road I'll be substituting my YM for my grail, a White Dial Black Ceramic Daytona. Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication- Leonardo da Vinci IMG_0713.jpgIMG_0714.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

That's a good pair to have.
The YM is as dressy as a sports watch can get, while the G-Shock is famously rugged. When you get your Daytona, both your watches will have chronograph complications.

Thank you! I don't see Daytona just as a chrono, it's a special watch to me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Beautiful YM! The red second hand adds a nice touch.
Keep hanging around here, though, and your 2 will turn into 3, then 5. Every stable needs a Sub. And an Explorer. And a Speedy. And a PM |

Nice pair. I always envied those who can keep their collection to one pair, a one watch person is even more rare. But then again, this is a watch forum where most of us are watch lovers and can't seem to stick to only one,or two or three...

I think it's a very personal matter, I've always been this way, not just with watches. I always try my best to eliminate the superfluous. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

You and I share a very similar taste and ideology. I currently have a YM (blue dial) myself and waiting on a white dial DaytonaC. I could see myself adding a simple GShock such as yours or a Seiko quartz for rugged activities. As much as I like the Kermit and couple other JLC pieces, I am trying my best to stick with the less-is-more approach in all materialic things. Although I am sure all avid watch collectors thought this way about watches when they first started...

Less will always be more. I find my self happier and able to enjoy more ever since I've had these only two watches. Seiko is a great brand btw. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

YM looks great. I love everything about that watch except that it's called a "Yacht Master".
I like mechanical watches, so my beaters are seiko, like you suggest. Pic below of a new SRPA21 "turtle". Thing is a tank. |
