Rolex Day Date YG?or PL? VOTE !!

Hello,

I want to buy a DD, but I'm totally ignorant, because I like both.
The one because she cries so with the diamonds(228238), the other because she is so understatement and noble(228206).
Apart from that, I want to have it for a long time and it should also be stable in value.
Which clock would you buy?

Love the stick dial...that would be my choice. I think the Romans look better with the fluted bezel, IMO.

I’ve had all three of those and still have the platinum quadrant dial.

Personally- I would go platinum. It’s more versatile to me.

Of the waffle and the quadrant, I prefer the quadrant. It’s easier to read and changes in different lights. The one downside is the lack of lume.

2nd one here as I went YG DD already and Platinum watch seems to be in my future.

If you prefer YG then go for it!

PT w/ diagonal dial. I tried this one on once with the intention of buying it. For some reason, as much as I love the way it looks, I just don’t like the way it looks on me.

Killer pics guys! Keep them coming!

Love the YG with diamonds, but I had to make a similar choice a few months ago and I went Pt with diamonds and never looked back....and would make the same choice again today....but I love YG with diamonds too...tough choice. . .then again, if you plan to purchase new, consider buying pre-owned and get both.

From your list, it would be number 2
But the style in Watchweb’s photo would be my personal choice.

Do you like a smooth bezel vs. fluted? Does the extra cost of the platinum move the needle for you? Dollar for dollar, it's the yellow gold plus a couple of sports models vs. the platinum. As watches, they can't be more different but I love them both. That diagonal motif stick platinum is gorgeous and understated and that black diamond dial is badass. Difficult choice but you can't go wrong imho. Personally, I'd go with the more conspicuous yellow gold and with leftover coin, think about something else to go with it.

I have also a Platin Daytona and a Deep Sea D-Blue from Rolex, both will stay, because they are ingenious.
I like the white clear noble from the Platin one but also the radiant and eye-catching of the YG.
