Incoming: 16610

A new arrival from a trusted seller. It’s been on my list for awhile but held off as I originally thought the Submariner Date was too “common”.

I started with a white faced Daytona. Then a BLNR as soon as I saw it. It felt a bit too much at first but once I brushed the center links it felt right at home. Then a short lived Explorer 1, the short hands bothered me more than they should have. I traded it for a 5 digit Explorer II which I think is an incredibly underrated watch.

And now this... It’s a 2009 5 digit 16610 as I wanted a more subtle look and fit for my thin wrists. I was torn given I knew I was compromising the glidelock but no doubt this will become my daily wearer...

Wonderful model! I think we cann't say that a Rolex of thousands of dollars is common, I think rather than among watch lovers is an inconic and preferred.

Very nice. It's common because it's that good.

I’ve never had a single comfort issue in over 7 years with my 16610.
Congrats and enjoy!

Does 16610 have the 5mm easy link adjustment or was that not started until the next generation?

Big congrats, you made a great decision. The 16610 is a handsome, underrated, unsung hero. And, it's a rugged, versatile, go-anywhere watch. Hope it brings you much enjoyment!
