I Had Almost Given Up!

A month ago I decided I wanted a SkyDweller TT with the White Face. Although I hadn’t purchased a watch from my local AD in many years this was my first stop. What a bunch of jerks. I would not have minded waiting for a watch but they could have treated me like a human. They had an ownership change and the difference was obvious. I then began to call the AD’s that were fairly close. Every one said, sorry we haven’t even seen one of those but if we had it you would have to come into the store to purchase. I was down to two more numbers one 200 miles away and one across the country in N. CA. By now I knew that the N. CA was likely a no go so I called the AD 200 miles away. Yes we have one. It came in last night. We will hold it for 4 hours. I hopped in the car and took off. It’s now mine. No discount. They had to order the extra link. They did give me a Wolf 1.8 watch winder (I know nothing about). I should have the watch with the extra link in the next 2 weeks.

Very Happy and Excited!!

The wait won’t be that bad. I do feel very lucky. Had this happened on any other day I would have likely missed out.

Congratulations on your very fine looking Sky-Dweller! If you want something bad enough you will certainly get it with persistence. Nice job! Wear it in good health. Cheers!

Congratulations on a beautiful watch and your persistence. I personally would push the issue on the link as The AD go out of his way to get NY to FedEx one overnight. These are doable tasks.

congrats!
I am surprised that no one near you have TT Sky-D. I am also curious what the dealer did or said to you that made you upset.

I found 2 others with the champagne dial. No luck on the white.

I stopped by once and called twice to see “the watch guy”. He wasn’t there and never called me back. Then I went back by wearing my YG Sub. He was standing there and still let the junior guy wait on me. I asked about the white dial junior guy went over and asked comes back to me and says “special order only” watch guy was too important to talk to me. So, I left. All of the above acted like they could care less if I purchased anything or not. If I am going to spend $17k in a store I expect the store to act like they want me as a customer. So, I left, never to return. Now I have a good relationship with a good AD even though they are a few hours away.

Yeah, some ADs are quite bad to be honest. I mean customer service is important and anyone can buy any watch. I wore my Casio Digital, $10 digital world timer to an AD and the store manager came over and helped me out. Was really great service and wonderful. I'd work with a good AD anytime. You are lucky he is only 200 miles away. I flew almost 5000 miles and then drove 20 miles to get to the AD I like!

BTW, Congrats on the watch. Looks great on your wrist.

As a business owner who has been thru good times and bad times it blew my mind.

I doubt I will return. I am not really a collector. My gold sub will remain my everyday watch 90% of the time with the SkyDweller for more formal events and travel. I guess I could buy another but at this point I don’t know what that would be.

sorry to hear that. hey, you can use them to try on watches but buy it from that one you like. I am sure they will ship watches to you after the first purchase in person.

That’s beautiful! I’ve been contemplating between this one and the champagne dial but that one looks real good!
Congratulations!!
