Trade 16710 for 126710BLNR?

Heavily debating trading in my GMT for the 126710. If I sell now to a trusted seller I could get almost the full value of the new 126710 what would my fellow TRFers do?

The new model is a 126710BLRO, not 126710BLNR.

To answer your question, I say go with the one you love!

The new model has a new movement, and updated bracelet and all of that. But, yours is discontinued and has different case dimensions and all. I think both watches are beautiful, and you should pick the one that you love the most.

Plus, if you sell yours now, it may be months until you get the new one.

Something to think about

There's a 126710BLNR and BLRO.

OP you really need to try on the new one and then make the decision. I personally wouldn't swap them, but you might prefer some of the changes, or it might make you realize how much you like the 5 digit.

The 126710BLNR didn’t exist when I posted that comment

Ha!

Per your question — the 16710 is an awesome ~$5-6K watch. The 126710 is an awesome modern watch. I had a 16710 for 15 years, but traded mine for a 126710blro and am very happy with the modern upgrade.

I like the BLNR. It's my favorite SS GMT currently produced (including the new Pepsi), but I'd never trade my Coke 16710 for it. It's just my opinion, but those good old 16710's are simply sublime.

Nope. I would not. Even if you got close to full value, it’s just MSRP, a lot of emphasis on suggested. Resulting you’d still have to pay some cash and lose the versatility of the 16710 (Bezel - 3 and Bracelet - 3). But it really all boils down to what you want. I for one, shall never part with my Pepsi (unless they start selling for 20k plus...then it might be kinda hard to pass, lol).

Wait, I am not sure if you are asking to trade for a 116710BLNR, or for a 126710BLRO.

But as Armyguy03 pointed out above the versatility of the 16710 is something to think about too!

Don’t succumb to hype. Sleep on it and reassess and I believe you’ll see that the 16710 is a special reference not worth giving up.

You might be able to sell yours for the retail of the new one............... good luck to getting a new one in the next 12-18 months for retail!
If demand on these exceeds supply then you are gonna pay retail+premium..... Ceramic Daytona as an example

Id hate to see you sell your GMT expecting to hop across and find out you will have to shell out thousands due to the good old "supply and demand" hype that seems to keep driving desirable rolexs up to stupid prices past retail

I've become such a five-digit guy that I wouldn't. But to be fair, the modern ceramics are a lot easier to wear if you don't like your watches showing wear.

I would not trade a five-digit Pepsi for a six-digit Pepsi, if that is the question.

One could discuss why the 16710 has become so popular during the last couple of years. Is it due to the fact that it is the only model you can get (beside wg) if you want a Pepsi? I guess we will see in the few years to come. Now you can get a current production Pepsi - lets see what will happen with 16710 prices and if it is more to it other than the colors...

A bit off topicI just realized.

I think you would regret selling a 16710. If you want the new one add it, you can always sell it later if you don't love it. I'm curious to see how the ceremic bezel colors turned out this time- hopefully more red/blue than last time.

Curious if after a year and a half, people still feel the same? Seems there's a ton of hype on the 126710 BLRO.
