How long are Rolex models produced before refresh?

Hi all

I'm trying to figure out when the best time to buy a Rolex DateJust 31 watch. My plan is to get it in London next time I'm there but it may not be until next year.

My question is when do Rolex models get refresh? I'm only looking for 1 type of Rolex for my wife - specs below - anyone know the latest this watch will be old in the shops?

DateJust31
- Ref 178273
- Jubilee band
- Fluted bezel
- Diamonds with champagne face

Really nobody knows, 31mm will stay for a while I believe.

Good thing is, a Rolex never goes out of style

They're actually kind of in the middle of updating the DJ 31. The solid gold ones already have the 2236 movement but the steel and two-tone ones still have the 2235. All the DJ 28's adn 41's already have new-generation movements, and all the 36's except the steel ones do too.

I'd expect new movements for the rest of the DJ lineup within a Baselworld or two.

Thanks - couple questions:

1) what's the difference in 2236 and 2235 movements? is one better than the other?

2) do you think the configuration I want for the DJ31 will remain or will they not carry the color/band/dial combo anymore?
