YM40 Blue Dial or DJ41 Slate fluted jubliee?

Hello guys!

My virgin post after lurking in TRF for many years! :D

Weeks back I purchased an OP39 with white dial. Loving it every moment. The AD just called to inform two pieces arrived and asked if I’m keen on either...

Torn between 2 beautiful watches: The YM40 platinum blue dial and the DJ41 Slate dial with fluted bezel and jubilee bracelet.

Which one should I get first? I know both are very different watches and I can’t decide which to pick...

DJ41 for sure. Fluted and jubilee is a winner. When you say slate do you mean rhodium or is it the slate Wimbledon dial? The Wimbledon dial is super hot right now. The diamond dial is my rhodium.

FYI the YM40 just got a new movement. Make sure if you go that route that they are offering you the new movement not the old one.

Both are very nice. YM 1 would be my choice, particularly given your current watch.

The Wimbledon is hard to beat in my opinion, my favorite datejust. The YM 1 is also very nice, and looks great on the wrist. Up to you in the end though.

YM Blue but that is just me. I'm not overly enthusiastic about the new movement. It has assemblies that have to be replaced in their entirety where the old movement had individual parts that could be replaced/rebuilt. There was a post regarding this by a service tech a while ago. This makes repairs on a new movement more expensive The old movement was a work horse and I prefer it.
On the other hand I would not let new or old prevent me from buying.
Good luck with your choice!

Rhodium DJ gets my vote. Absolutely love the color of the dial and the way it changes from dark to light. It also pairs very well with any color of clothing.

Congrats. This was my second choice behind the rhodium diamond dial but in the long run the one you have is more versatile. It’s very special looking as well. Wear in good health.

Very nice, wanted that one or the two tone one. Couldn’t find one with the jubilee, ended up with the tt oyster. Big fan of the Wimbledon.

Very nice-congrats.

I am kind of in the same dilemma-since the OP secured the model he wanted I did not feel the need to start a new thread.

For a daily(my other is a 118238) I am torn between a Rhodium blue hand Yachtmaster or stainless DJ 41.

I like oyster over jubilee-I find it more comfortable.

Decisions, decisions...……..

Since you have a president I would go with the yachtmaster. I love the DJ41 but if I were to put it on the oyster I’d get the YM. Plus you will like the weight better on the YM. The DJ41 is so light.
