DSSD Black Vs. Blue
I'm torn between the two and need some advice. I'm referring to the DSSD 126660 Black and JC (Blue). It seems the black is the real sleeper of the stainless steel line and you can find some really good deals. I've seen some in excellent condition for under 11k. The JC blue is another story as you all know. Premiums will need to be paid, but these seem to even be dropping some. I've found the blue in the low to mid 13's now. I like both to be honest. The black is classic, but that blue just pops. Im torn between taking advantage of the "low" prices on the black or just grabbing the blue. I understand these watches are not an investment, but it seems the blue would retain more of its value. This also plays into my tough decision. Help me choose ya'll.

Choose the one you like more without regard to price.

To me it’s all about the dial for that reference.
The back dial was just “meh” to me, but the gradient blue dial makes this watch IMHO. Well worth the extra money IMO |

As you say, black dial is classic. In the long run, classics always prevail.

Buy the one that sings to you because unless you plan to flip it's going to be the one you wear.
For me I went for the Black dial, more classic and I really dislike the large green font on the blue gradient dial. Good luck, great watch either way PS Note that current Rolex grey SS pricing is inflated partly due to speculators in the market. |

The classic black is great....but the JC will be the one to get for the long run....as it is a commemorative timepiece....

I think the blue dial is hideous. Black all the way.

I choose Blu, to distinguish itself from all the Rolex production then it is truly spectacular both are winners |

I had the exact same struggle. Went with the blue (already have several black dial divers). I'm super happy I did!

Got both 126660 models black and jc .... the black one finds its way onto my wrist way more thant the jc version, its just “cleaner” the lime green on the jc is a magnet for your eyes to focus on and you never just look at the time always that green first then the hour markers... if that makes any sence

I never gave the DSSD a second thought in black. Once I saw the JC I had to have it and I think the dial is great.

I wear the black more than any other watch in the past few months. I like the blue as well, but black is the choice for daily.

I was offered the black and took it from my AD at retail. The JC is harder to find. But you never know, the black may be the sleeper that ends up being the winner. If you loved the JC, you would already have decided.

Classic lasts. Colour is a fashion trend. Blue may turn green or red in time.

Yep, it’s shares like this from several active owners that sent me to Blue.

I talked to a guy at the grocery who had a JC. He had no idea what it was. Said he got it because his Sub couldn’t handle swimming.

Pay the extra and get the JC. If you change your mind down the road, trade it for the Black Dial, plus some $ back.
