This, exactly. Scratches, dents, and scuffs are all OK.

Just keep it clean brother!!!

(dish soap and a toothbrush, or a shower once a week works for me!)

I've had a Submariner for 3 years and wear it everyday and it doesn't look like that.

Normal wear and tear for a service watch. Not a safe queen.

As a photographer I think it happens while building the setups / travelling / in the process of the shoots / I dont really care about "Oh god my watch" - other Story with my 16710 - I try to take care of it - it feels very denty...

Mint!

A good perspective for those who overthink about scratches.

FWIW if OP ever sold this to a store, the next buyer would see ZERO of these.
And at the current (at least pre-covid-19) state of the market, scratches would have little impact on the selling price, if any.

Yikes!!

Good lord dude, did you wake up and put that watch in blender every morning?!?

LoL. JK. Glad you have the serenity to not give AF about it.

I'm always jealous of my past self.
I owned only one watch at a time.
The one that stayed on my wrist for the longest period was an Oakley GMT and it def. shows wear! It was polished gunmetal and wasn't babied at all.
After I chipped the sapphire crystal on it back in 2014, I was in search of a replacement watch and I fell down this ludicrous and obscenely addictive rabbit hole we call a hobby.

And the thing is to most casual observers from more than a foot away the watch would look fine.

That BLNR looks beautiful! Watches are meant to be worn. Life is too short for me to worry about scratches and such.

The clasp on my SD4K I’m enjoying today clearly belies this philosophy.

Think that’s how a watch should look after a few years. Glad to see it worn and not cosseted

Well done OP. We all look at the world (and our watches) in different ways. Myself, I wouldn't want to look at my $9K watch on my wrist like that. I wear all of mine and they all have wear but I break out an old Seiko divers when wrenching on bikes, cars, running chainsaws.

Still a mystery to me how one can get such an amount and extent of scratches and dings, unless you actually want them. Unless you're a handyman I suppose and refuse to put ur watch away.

Good for you, I'd like to arrive somewhere in the middle at some point.
