It always hurts to see that kind of damage but it also feels good to see them repaired.

Bummer.

Do you ever get to hear the back story on how things like this happen? You could write a book

And this, folks, is why the Explorer will always have a steel bezel.

What happened there? The bezel
does not seems to be scuffed or anything; just arrived like that?

Yep, so much for the folks that love to say, yes well I know ceramic is brittle but you never hear of them breaking. I’ll hold onto my 5 digit bezels thanks.

Yeah because these types of posts are a daily occurrence.. The odds of that happening to your watch are minuscule.

Lol, what is minuscule is the number of ceramic Rolex owners that are on this forum compared to those than own them and not active in a forum like this. So the vast majority of breaks you will never see. It’s bound to happen when dinner plate material is used in the outside of a watch.

Since the OP is an RSC watchmaker, set up to repair this watch, I’d hazard a guess that the owner of this watch is not a member of this forum therefore we are seeing a broken bezel that fall into the vast majority that you were talking about, not the small minority (which in all likelihood is a statistically significant sample size) on this forum.

Love the black ceramic insert ,but on the colours I prefer the aluminum inserts .

Colours are spot on.Inexpensive to replace. No fuss, no mess.

On the aluminum inserts there were never discussions of is it blue or purple, red or pink .. or Mark I ,II , II etc
