CHNR vs BLNR - Which One?

Over the past year or so I have been lucky to get two GMT's. I have never owned such a nice watch - let alone two of them! I love them both and rarely am I not wearing one or the other. Despite them both being GMT's, they are different enough that I could justify both of them. What do you think? Overkill? How would you wear them - one dressy, one casual? I think they both are very versatile - one gold two tone with the more casual oyster bracelet, and the other SS with a more dressy jubilee.

I love them but I have to admit I was most likely influenced by the forum to acquire these watches. Honestly, it takes me several years to grow into a watch. I've had the BLNR about three months and the CHNR just over a year. I love them more every day so no questioning my decision.

Thanks for hearing me out!

Would just wear them according to color code. No overkill in my opinion - keep enjoying them to the full!

Cheers

+1... if you have them both, wear it accordingly to what you feel is appropriate.

Worn in accordance to the color of my mood, not the color of my clothes.

Had and loved them both. They are the same watch, yet very different and could easily coexist in a collection.

I let each go for varying reasons, but if I had both today, I'd keep them.

Congrats on a great pair!

Sure. With that sweater in the second picture, I think the CHNR goes much better for instance. The Jubilee itself doesn't make the BLNR any dressier in my opinion. Would just base it on colors.

Cheers

I owned the CHNR but moved it on for the new BLNR. I like the brighter color hue and the bracelet better. It was more my personal style. That’s really what it comes down to.

I agree. I think the BLNR looks better with jeans but next to that sweater the CHNR looks much better. I usually do not give coordination that much thought!

You’re not alone...

I actually sold my LVc to free up room in the box. The dual GMTs are my style and I like the mix of colors and metals. Don’t overthink it. :-)

damn. I am thinking of getting a full rose gold GMT, too. haha.

I have Batman as a daily wear. I love the looks and functionality of the GMT. I am thinking of getting a PM GMT as a fun weekend watch, to spice up my collection.

only question is - should I get a GMT in gold or Daytona in gold. both are very pleasing to look at

Try them on because the Daytona wears very different than a GMT.

Is "both" a reasonable response? :)

My first PM piece was the white gold Daytona on Oysterflex. As much as I love that watch, the complication is one that I hardly use, and the WG "blends in" to the point that it looks like SS to those who aren't in the game.

When I decided to get something in Rose Gold, I wanted it to be a statement piece, not only in looks and presence, but in what it said about me. I'm a GMT guy through and through. I travel a lot and I work with teams spread across multiple time zones -- the complication just works. So choosing another GMT was a no brainer.

That said, if you're not looking for a specific functionality or complication and are just focused on the aesthetic value, you may find that an all gold Daytona is a better complement to your GMT. If so, I'd go yellow gold with green dial; that piece just pops!

haha, not rich enough to splurge on two full PM Rolex'es.

But man, the White gold Daytona is a stunner. I admit I won't likely use Chrono function much, even if I get the Daytona.

White Gold Daytona + Rose gold GMT would be a killer combo. some of the most beautiful watches out there IMO.

congrats on having some very fine watches. You have a good taste.

I know the feeling. In mu case it's Sub Dates. I love the 116610LV and 13LB equally and couldn't part with either. The 116613LB is my equal favourite TT Rolex at the moment. It ties with the TT CHNR. I don't like the BLNR but I would put a BLRO with my TT CHNR in a heartbeat if I could find one at an AD.

I moved my BLNR about 10 months ago and have no remorse. I'd love a CHNR however.

Harry - I've never seen the BLRO in the flesh - which is probably a good thing! If I found one at MSRP it would be tough to say no.

I have CHNR, BLNR and BLRO. They are so beautiful timepieces, I love all of them.

They all look good with dress up or down.

Not overkill at all! I think the two tone makes them different enough where it keeps things interesting. If you had a Pepsi and BLNR I’d say maybe move one and get a diver

If I had both and could keep both, that’s what I would do. If I had to keep one, it would be the CHNR. A lovely and unique watch.

I totally agree with this thinking
I had Pepsi BLRO, Batman ., root beer all 3
And ceramic Daytona

I realized it’s redundant to have root beer in there , I thought it’s beautiful watch but very very hard to wear daily or casually as very hard for going with usual wardrobe

Sometimes I feel less is more
Since I acquired Pepsi BLRO in March this year , I have been wearing it almost daily and on occasions Daytona

I think it’s overkill to have 3 GMT , u do get bored eventually with same style different color

I sold my root beer today !

Happy that I did ! Now have Pepsi Batman and Daytona and that is honestly more than enough

I like the CHNR more but if I had both I'd just color coordinate as someone else suggested.

Feel like the CHNR would look killer with any browns in an outfit and the Batman would pair very well with blues.

They're both GMTs and they are both beautiful and versatile, so having them both con easily be justified.

I own the 116710BLNR, so there's no pressing need to buy another GMT, unless a five-digit pops up for a reasonable price--fat chance.
