Need Help! Is this watch real? Rolex Sub 114060LN

Hi All,

I am new to this forum, have been a Rolex admirer for a very long time and have been after a Submariner for years, I have been offered the below by a friend of a friend and was just wondering if anyone could tell whether anything is off or not right with this watch? Even if anybody could tell if it was fake or not. Any information people might have would be great, these are the only pics I have so far so will ask for a few more.

I am going to have a look at it in person on Friday so any tips or advice would be amazing!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I did :) Think the bezel numbers gave it away, especially the thickness of the 50 in the photo compared to a genuine one. Just thought it would be a good idea to post here to get some views from experts. Also thought that the Rolex warranty cards had a yellow/gold border not a dark one? Thanks antrolexsub!

Would you really buy a £8000+ watch from a friend of a friend without having it checked for authenticity first?

Make an appointment to visit a trustworthy Rolex Service Centre then ask the friend of a friend to accompany you to drop off the watch to be checked under the guise of a pressure test.

You’ll soon know if the watch is fake when you go to collect it.

Thanks for the advice, to answer your question, no I wouldn't purchase without checking authenticity first. Apologies if posting here first was the wrong move.

OP’s first post is one asking whether members here can tell whether a watch is fake from the photos? I’m not comfortable with that at all. And no, the previous poster shouldn’t elaborate.

Because the OP has no posting history here. He could be a completely genuine guy with a completely genuine query, or he could be someone using this forum as a sounding board for a watch that he knows is a fake.

I've been here long enough to know whether OP is sincere or simply fishing for info.

Yes, if OPs first post about trying to identify if a watch is genuine or fake with accompanying feel good story is a red flag for me, at least 90% of the time.

Well I found 1 major item by a simple google image search. Props to those on the post who quickly called it a fake, you have much better detailed eyes then i do.

So the nice people in the rep community keep track of the bracelet codes on the clap. Real Rolex are random. The high end rep bracelets are made in batches.

The T1G on this bracelet indicates that it IS a high end clone. Along with some of these other smaller issues

A quick Google search brought up the info easily. T1G is a known clone clasp code.

Until this thread I had no idea that T1G was a known clone clasp code. I can’t imagine many that are posting to have their potential watch purchase verified would know it. Hell, I didn’t even know my clasp had a code till I read this thread.

Please note - thats not the only tell tale sign.
Indeed ROLEX may (probably) also used that code - hence the factory in CHINA copies
In other words there may be genuine ROLEX with that code - A

IMO, agree 50 on bezel isn’t right, nor is the 30. Also, the “S” on Submariner and Superlative look out of sync for proper font size. Get it to an AD for your answer.

I have never seen the reference referred to as 114060LN which is what his warranty card lists as well.

The photos on google images show “114060.” I have yet to look at the Warranty card on my Sub but likely it is 114060

The problem with “some” posts of this nature, is that the poster simply asks “what’s wrong”, and then simply omits or obscures those details in the subsequent Ebay listing. So if we said it was the “X” component, they wouldn’t have a photo of “X” showing to increase the chance of selling

You really have no business buying a used watch If you are having a come on this forum to authenticate the watch and have no idea how to authenticate it yourself.

Unless it’s a Rolex service center, and you’re paying money, there’s no guarantee the watch can be authentic from a dealer, I’ve seen watchmakers at authorized dealers get fooled before.

you really should just buy brand new from authentic dealer, you run a very high risk of getting yourself scammed out of a lot of money, which is a lot more than the extra than you would have spent buying from an authorized or trusted dealer
