Platinum DD or RG GMT
So I’m thinking of selling a couple watches and getting either the platinum DD with diagonal motif dial or RG GMT. My concern with the DD is the weight and if I could wear all day. I do have gold watches and no issues. I have tried it on and it’s definitely heavy. Unfortunately it’s hard to tell with just a few minutes and not sized. I really like the gmt as well and I know there won’t be an issue with the weight. Has anyone ever sold a platinum watch because it was too uncomfortable for all day wear?

I don't think you'll notice much difference on the wrist between the RG GMT and Plat DD2.
That said, I'd get the Plat DD2 with diagonal motif. It's a real stunner! :) |

:) there's your answer(s).
What a nice dilemma to have though. I have no experience of a Platinum DD but I would say that fit is really important. Keeping the watch just snug enough makes it much more comfortable. The problem then is that your wrist size can fluctuate. The Deepsea is a good example. I don't think it's quite as heavy as the Pt DD but still heavy enough and the micro adjustments available mean that fit and comfort can always be fine tuned. The GMT only has Easylink but that's better than nothing so I would say for that reason alone go for the GMT. I also think that GMT is one of the best looking watches Rolex make and I wish it was 42mm+ |

The DD hugs the wrist closer, but all depends on wrist size and your tastes, but as stated, what a great decision to have in front of you

A bit apples/oranges, as one is 2x the retail of the other, right?
If I was between the two, my question would be "Platinum DD, or RG GMT + White Dial SS Daytona + a Sub/YM of some sort + maybe even something else" |

If you get it to fit right you only notice the weight for a very short while when you first put it in but then you forget it’s there. As long as the head doesn’t swing around your wrist you will be fine.
As others have stated, it’s not much different than full gold. Post pics after you choose! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

The DD40 will be much more comfy than the GMT.
As above the press bracelet will bug the wrist alot better than the oyster. That will help with the comfort 100%. I've owned a tonne of watches now and always find the Oyster bracelet is the lest comfy out of them all even with the micro adjuster as that doesnt really help with the contour. |

Thanks for all the replies. I do currently have a RG DD and no issues with the fit or size. I most like likely wouldn’t buy from and AD since I can get both watch for less from a grey dealer. Especially the DD. No need to package or build a relationship since I already have a ceramic Daytona White dial, blro, blnr and hulk among others. I’m leading toward the platinum DD.

Sounds like you already have a couple RG pieces in your collection (and a GMT) so i think the platinum would make sense if money is no object
All other things equal though I would take the GMT |
