Yes!!!!! I saw the weight posted elsewhere for the 45.5mm bigger version at a whopping 222 grams. That's almost double the Sub
I'm very glad I didn't get the big one. It looked a bit too trendy and clunky on the wrist, and I don't think my wrists are that small (i think my left wrist is about 7 inches). |

My wife really liked the Panny on me, the Titanium one with brown leather strap and simple face. I forget the actual model. It actually looked aesthetically correct on my wrist compared to the big omega, which looked more like a supersized McDonalds frys.
But, she thinks that the Panerai trend will go away in a few years, and in 10 or 20 years, I would still be wearing a TT Rolex Sub. JJ, obviously you sold the Omega, how was it though as far as accuracy and quality? |

Wow, the guts in that watch look beefy! How often are those supposed to be serviced?

'The movement Have the movement of your watch checked periodically by an Authorized Panerai Service Centre so as to preserve its perfect operation. If the watch has a tendency to gain or lose time to a significant degree, the movement may need to be overhauled. The movements are designed to withstand temperature variations between -10°C and + 60°C (14°F and 140°F). Outside this range of temperatures, operational variations exceeding those set out in the specifications of the movement may be noticed. In addition, there is a risk that the lubricants contained in the movement may deteriorate, resulting in damage to some of its parts.' |

I don't know about Panerai's going out of style, they have been around for a while, with a large amount of history. The size of the watch feels right because of the simplicity of the dials, where as the Omegas have alot more going on.
The TI model you were looking at is either a PAM 176, or a PAM 177 if it had a second hand. The weight on those models are incredible for a 44M watch. But I think those two watches are on other ends of the spectrum, TT Sub with blue dial, I think completely stands out, and would give you something completely different from the black dial sub you already own. Nearly got a P.O. Not slamming the P.O., but I'm glad I got the 14060M.
Thanks for the pics. |
