Stopped in to my local AD looking for a GMT

I made an appointment to see my SA at my local AD. The only purchase history I have is a SubC Date that I only waited a few days for last summer. I've gotten the itch again and really want a Pepsi but am realistic and knew that would be supremely unlikely. I figured what the heck, I'll ask for any GMT as I absolutely love the entire line. We sat down, talked about the market, my love for watches, and what to expect next month (spoiler alert: she knew nothing and didn't even want to guess!). I even showed her all the pictures of the different adventures I've taken my Sub on in the last year (beach, hiking, 4 feet of snow, etc..).

I then led into me really wanting to add a GMT to my collection. She outright said that unfortunately that the Pepsi and Batgirl weren't possible but that she could get me a Rootbeer. It took me all of 2 seconds to jump and say yes! I asked if it would take months and she said, it shouldn't be that long at all! Goes to show it doesn't hurt to ask at all!

P.S. The AD moved locations within the mall to a larger space where it has it's own large Rolex showroom. I didn't take pictures but was surprised how more than half the store was dedicated to be this Rolex Boutique that they are now requiring from all/most their AD's. SA also made it a point to point out that cases weren't empty and basically everything was full even if it was 65% different variations of Datejusts.

Congrats! You've obviously made a good connection with your AD. I think the Rootbeer is the best TT in the catalog. Love mine.

Good move. The CHNR is my favorite in the GMT lineup. It's also probably the easiest to acquire, which is odd.

I heard that one of the NJ ADs in the mall area will lose rolex by end of the month, I hope its not the one you went to, but from your description its very possible. But good luck, the Root Beer is an awesome watch!

Honestly I doubt it as this is a very high end mall with only high end shops in Bergen County and considering the major renovation they put into it to comply with Rolex's guidelines. However, I do believe I know which one you are talking about as it's Rolex display in their store is merely 2 display cases. Nevertheless, something to keep in mind as time passes.

Which AD are you talking about with the 2 display cases?

Hartgers in Wyckoff and in all fairness they carry other brands so the couldn't really just devote half their store to Rolex.

Are you sure?

They just finished moving the store to the front of the mall and went through a major renovation.

They also separated Rolex from jewelry with a separate entrance.

Wow, well that sucks. I wonder what happened and as mentioned before, very surprising considering the volume of business they receive and the extensive renovation that happened in the last 6 months. Oh well, c'est la vie.

I can only guess that Rolex probably doesnt want any mall ADs and/or too many ADs within X area. But its sad to see this happen.
