Hulk v Pepsi

I’m in between the Hulk and the Pepsi. I currently have a 116610LN and a 116710 BLNR and I don’t intend to get rid of either. I love the Batman and the sub has sentimental value. That being said I’d be interested in adding some diversity to my collection and get something other than a black dial. Can’t go wrong with either but which one has more “wow” factor in person.

To someone unfamiliar with Rolex, the Pepsi. To those who know that true Hulks are no longer produced, then probably the Hulk.

Get a 12 series, so the Pepsi or maybe the new LV (green bezel, black dial).

Way too close to the 116619LN it would be redundant imo

I have both the 124060 and 126610LV and am happy. 11 vs 12 one green one black might be too close as you noted.

IMO, the Pepsi is the best SS Rolex. Jubilee makes it awesome. I get more compliments on my Pepsi than any other piece by far...if that matters to you.

Matter of opinion, I would take tree bark over TT Datejust! Glad everyone doesn’t like the same thing. Nothing better than black bezel sports watch in my opinion. There is a reason they are so popular.

Yeah I'm actually with you on black, and particularly black Rolex divers. I have 4 of them (124060, SD4K, 14060m, 16610), and know I should diversify into other things rather than have all - BUT I CAN'T. They all offer something unique. But anyway, that's what to me leads me to my conclusion about the Pepsi. I prefer black divers. I prefer subs over GMTs. I don't even really like red on my watches. Yet I think the new BLRO is one of the most elite SS Rolex models I've encountered. Just opinion though as you said.

Since you already have a diver and a GMT, I guess it's more look than function you are after. If I was in the market for a Hulk now, I would buy the Hulk without hesitation. Rolex will be knocking out plenty of Pepsis. In the fullness of time you may end up with a newer Pepsi but Rolex won't be making any more Hulks soon. Probably. And never again the venerable 11 series.

I am aiming to own both. I have my Hulk and am waiting for my Pepsi. I will be patient so long as it's in production and I stand a chance of getting it at MSRP.

Sounds like you need to try different brands. Your Rolex ceramics are very, very similar.

Hulk and a 16710. One 6-digit, one 5; one ceramic, one aluminum; one chunky, one svelte.

So I'm biased...

I have and love both .. my question I need answered is are you the type of watch owner who always has your watches shined up and clean?? Minimal wear and tear or are you pretty hard on your stuff?? Reason I ask is because the Pepsi has a MAJOR wow factor that does not pick up in photos at all.. you really need to see it in person, then the hype starts to really make sense .. but BUT BUT the Pepsi can have a tendency to look way less impressive if it’s not spotless shined up looking fresh like it’s still at the AD !! Whereas the hulk can have a wow factor even without it being perfectly spotless mainly due to the all brushed oyster ...

The jubilee bracelet in the Pepsi HAS to be very clean or else it will dull and underwhelming and do the whole watch no justice !!

But anyway my best suggestion is the Pepsi all in all just because I’m only interested in buying brand new from AD.. so the idea of having to pay so high for an unworn hulk is NOT appealing ‘!!

The submariner is the most iconic watch ever made and the Hulk is the most unique and hyped version of the Sub.

Why not consider a DJ, Milgauss, SD or AK for some variety since any of the 2 pieces will be a repeat in your collection.
