Watch You Wore Most in 2021 - Inspired by Hodinkee Story

Hi TRF family,

I recently watched the Hodinkee piece on the watches their staffers wore most in 2021 and felt inspired to ask our community the same question.

Please share a photo and, if inclined, share a few words about what the peace means to you or why you wore it the most in 2021.

I’ll start. For me it was my 116500, black dial, on oysterflex strap with the smarty end-links.

I wore it the most because of its comfort. This thing is SUPER easy to wear. With the ceramic bezel and rubber strap, there isn’t much metal exposed to ding or scratch so it fits the bill for (almost) everything and anything. I also love timing life’s activities and have found joy through the fulfillment of that curiosity. The piece feels under the radar and I’ve found that most people don’t seem to recognize it as fancy, expensive, or Rolex based on how it looks on the wrist.

Emotionally, this piece reminds me that I can have any watch I want, yet I cannot have every watch I want. I feel a sense of gratitude that I am able to wear this piece (almost) daily. I’ll admit it, this piece makes me feel special, in my own low-key, private type of way

I do hope others will join by sharing. Thanks in advance, and may all have a joyous and peaceful New Year.

Thank you to TRF for all the shared time, this is truly a great community. Cheers!

The Submariner 114060 is my most worn watch of 2021.

It also happens to be the only watch I own!

What I wore the most

E0CC407E-DC9F-4B49-8CEE-1F292551866C.jpeg

This is what I wore the most. In terms of inspiration, green has always been my favorite color, I feel a sense of connection when I wear this piece and on a personal level I like it more the 126610 LV.

Almost lost me at "inspired by Hodinkee" but I'll play.

GMT II 116710ln...but I think the 126110ln is going to give it a run for its money this year.

@7sins - How much of the year did you spend going from 10 pm to 2 am to “quick-set” the date?

LOVE the 15202 and amazing you wore it most in 2021.

Haha embarrassingly I don't even set the time half of the time, just a marvel to look at, I also keep it on a winder. Trust me, much much easier setting that than my manual Patek PCC.

It’s been a Seadweller 43 year for me, my first Rolex was an SD16600 but that went with my original collection about 15 years ago. I sort of fell out of love with watches for a while but then I saw a ceramic sub date in WOS and brought it on the spot. Since then I’ve gained a few more and even had another 16600 but the old bracelets put me off so let it go. Tried to get the 116600 but never really tried hard enough I guess, but when I had the chance of the SD43 at retail I snapped it.

Ty - did this last night

I wasn’t expecting it to look so good but I put it on and it was immediate match

It’s also racing colors - with Daytona makes sense

Some beautiful watches here all, thanks for sharing. The BB58 Navy for me... it's kind of shocking to me how few days I reached for something else this year.

Fantastic 3000th post

Mine is not a Rolex. I tend to wear this watch more than any.

It's rugged, and I can wear it and do just about anything without worry about scratches, scuffs etc.

It's accurate, at least accurate enough for me.

It looks the part. Subjective I know, but to me its such a fun watch to wear.

It's super comfortable ... there's nothing like a stretchy jubilee bracelet... those that know, know.

It's a diver and I use the bezel multiple times a day.

That about covers it.

Here's my daily driver: The classic Omega SMP 300M 2254.50. It's so comfortable, versatile and accurate. Its been with me to over 15 countries, swam in the Pacific, Atlantic and Indian Oceans, climbed mountains, and has never let me down once. In any given month, it never varies by more than 5 seconds.

The new SMP's are very nice, but they are too thick and over-styled IMO. I wish Omega would release an updated 2254.50 with the classic sword hands and black wave dial, as the style is timeless.
