Monochrome mock-ups
Have to say, though I'm hoping for 36mm, I'm digging the AK rendering. Not a fan of the Sub (looks washed out). Don't believe the YM will happen. Relatively indifferent on the rest.

Will the coke come this year? I’ve seen possible coke prediction for the last 10 years

I think their take on a new Air King would be a winner - more traditional styling, more differentiation from Milgauss = better option than killing it off.

AK blue dial is very nice, that would be a huge commercial success. TT Hulk is a stunner. Coke is refreshing, too much Pepsi around.

I have to say that for the first time I found those mock-ups intriguing.

The Milgauss makes sense, but, as much as I like the double batons on the OP, when they are organge, they don't look as good (IMO).
The Ti YM looks . That AK? Unlikely....Much like the TOG, I think streamlining the catalogue is more important than the model's history. The current OP does everything that AK does, but better. YG TT Sub Date with green? Striking combo. |

Another year, another "this is the year of the Coke. 100% GUARANTEED!" mock-up. I guess it'll be right one day - as they say, even a stopped watch is correct twice a day. Here's what I think will happen - Rolex will put the newer movement in a model that currently has the older one, and will change something like a fraction of a mm off/on the case-size. Cue 3 months of forum discussion/argument, during which two clear schools of thought will be in evidence. On the one hand, some will say that the 0.0025mm off the case size is a stroke of pure Rolex genius that has TOTALLY TRANSFORMED a model that was clearly a complete design disaster beforehand. The other side will say that Rolex is lazy and devoid of new ideas, and that working in Rolex R&D must be the easiest job in the world. Six months later, everything will be forgotten - we'll see a number of "Incoming" posts followed by 3 pages of "Congrats", or threads telling us that the new model's price is going "to the moon" and is easily a $100K watch, or how my AD's sister's husband's best friend said waiting lists are now 500 years unless you've bought your AD a box of Krispy Kremes in the last year. (The funny thing is, every year I enjoy the crazy speculation! ) |

Too many issues with the watches that they mocked up. I really dislike the Milgauss mock-up. The Daytonas are the only ones I really like. Definitely not a fan of the light blue Sky D either. The TT Hulk also doesn't do it. Glad these guys don't work for Rolex. At some pomt the Cole prediction is bound to be true if it keeps getting forecast yearly.

That AK mock up looks really nice but I don't think I'd be looking to acquire any of those speculated pieces.

Always an interesting read and on occasion they get it right. Of the watches discussed the only watch that interests me is the Coke GMT. The others, nice, but not interested.

I think they did a good job guessing. Don’t think two tone green submariner is happening.
Wouldn’t be surprised to see the rest. Don’t like the black dial Milgauss. Why make another black dial Milgauss when nobody liked it before and everyone preferred white and blue dial? Overall I liked their guesses. Platinum Skydweller with ice blue dial would be a chonky bastard but I like it.

Here we go with the Coke predictions once again...
The titanium Yachtmaster would be the biggest shake up in terms of new releases. It technically already exists, however I'm skeptical that it won't remain a one of one. That said, Rolex likes to introduce new ideas in the Yachtmaster lineup. |

I actually like the two tone green sub but I generally like colors and 2 tone. I’m not a huge fan of red, yellow or purple but I like blue green and orange.
If I recall correctly before the release each year the price on watches that people think will be discontinued goes up. Then goes down when they don’t announce it’s discontinuation. Also if they release a new version of the same watch it tends to lower the price of the older version. I think Hulk has hit its maximum and if they release a new hulk either in steel, 2 tone or full PM it would lower the value of the old hulk. Another example would be the Kermit and Cermit. But lately all prices have gone up so you’d have to be looking at % increase and rate of increase. All in all nothing to worry about. But I wouldn’t be buying anything 2nd hand right now. Everything is maximum bubble. They could easily discontinue no major references this year and introduce a few DJ and OP colors with laser etched dials and add a few strap options and call it a day. My guess is no matter what they introduce, no matter how ugly and random, it’s going to be instant sold out waitlist because of speculators. Black dial with green and orange double indices Milgauss 44mm on oyster flex will be the “it” watch for about 3 months then Greys will realize nobody actually wants this watch and prices will go down and the hype for everything will slow down. The explorer 2 was a bit of a floparooni for that same reason. I think that’s a pretty decent looking watch too. Rolex will play it safe I’m sure. They know what they’re doing at this point. I’m mostly looking at unloved vintage two tone and factory gemset stuff these days.

I just noted that the PT SKyDweller has the usual fluted bezel that AFAIK cannot be made in anything else but gold because of the metal properties.
So we can safely say that the PT SkyD will eventually have a WG bezel on a PT case, something that will definitely clash from a visual point of view; therefore it won't happen unless they go for a flat ring command. |

The Coke is coming….a broken clock is right twice a day. But maybe this is the year. Seems there is quite the enthusiasm for the color scheme. I wonder what the ADs think about this possibility…probably eye rolls envisioning the mayhem of demands.

For some reason reading through these made me think that they’re possibly going to introduce a full yellow gold Jubilee GMT LN.
I haven’t seen very much about a full gold Jubilee GMT. They’ve done it in the past, I don’t know why they wouldn’t bring it back. Would be a huge seller I think for people who are in the market for PM. |
