Icon20 Is PPxTiffany the superlative watch in the timepiece market?

0930 9.jpg

At the end of last year, Patek Philipp celebrated the 170-year partnership with Tiffany by launching a limited-edition model based on the Nautilus 5711, with a new Tiffany blue dial, a double-signature logo and a limited edition of 170 pieces, bringing this hot item the Nautilus 5711 model to new heights. The Tiffany Nautilus going from being priced at over $50,000 to fetching $6.5 million at auction, that shows how popular the watch it is!

Even though Patek Philippe has announced the discontinuation of the Nautilus 5711, the model is still hot in the market and prices are going through the roof, so as a well-known watch modification brand, AET REMOULD has also launched a Biscay Green watch based on the Nautilus 5711 model.

What do you think about this?

Looks nice, but that’s patent infringement isn’t it?

As if the Tiffany Blue dialed Nautilus wasn't enough of a horror, we have a knock off.

It's my understanding this is just a modification company so wouldn't be patent infringement or a knock off. Same as icing out a 5711. Not my thing but sure someone will like it.

But for this they created a separate case using ceramic as a material for it. If I remember correctly Artisan they get a donor model either a 5711 or a Daytona and modify it from there.

OP with lots of new threads on this German modification company. Wondering if this is marketing...

Then again OP's handle "Depp" means "fool" in German which would defeat the purpose.

I don't really understand how a color would make a watch "superlative", except in the case of a specific technical aspect ?

However, this would maybe be the most speculative watch ;-)

Not a big fan of the Tiffany Blue from an aesthetic view but also because it was launched after the green dial version which was supposed to end the series. Confusing messaging to me.

I am wondering if Patek will start doing additional colors with future editions or go back to more conservative traditions. I was very happy to be allocated the green dial but actually really like the Tiffany blue and if had the choice would have probably selected that one. This green though looks too gimmicky.

AET REMOULD produces pure horological abominations.

They should be put out of business for brand infringement. What they do is not just modifications, they completely redo a watch, leaving barely only the movement. So they entirely benefit from a brand's design while reselling @ 10x the MSRP of that watch.

No difference to me with chinese counterfeiters. No one that like horology and watch history would buy these watches...
