Value of Montblanc Pen
Guys/Gals,
Neither my hubby nor I are really 'pen people', per say. My husband received the following Montblanc pen as a gift about 2 years ago and it has never been used. As its been in its box in a drawer, we're wondering if we should just sell it or if there's any chance it might actually increase in value over the years. Montblank Starwalker 100 Years Soulmaker Ballpoint Pen -features a crystal top with floating diamond -clip with 100 years engraved on it -three platinum-plated rings -6 ink refills I did some preliminary research and it looks like the going rate for this watch is $400-$500. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks! |

I personally love Mountblanc pens, so I may be biased when I say this, but I would keep it. My father bought the fountain pen, mechanical pencil, and ballpoint pen set when they came out MANY moons ago, and they are worth now many times what he paid for them.
Just my .02 cents. |

Montblanc are really nice pens.
I have a Pelikan but always wanted a MB, I think I am going with a fountain pen when I am in the market for one. I believe the Limited Edition would fetch a pretty good price. The market for expensive and limited edition ones would only attract the pen collectors. |

My friend has that pen and it's a nice looking pen. But realistically I don't see it really increasing its value anytime soon. I would recommend keeping it and hope that it becomes discontinue. Not to mention that selling anything at this time is not a good idea unless you absolutely have too.
One thing to note is that a ballpoint tends to be less desirable than a fountain pen. |

Thanks for the info so far guys. We definitely don't HAVE TO sell. Just a case of going through some drawers in the study and remembering that we still have this pen.
Any more info would be appreciated! |

how about a photo... i guess as suggested above you should use it.. as i dont really think it will be appreciated very much since the word 'limited edtion' means nothing as they must have produced thousands of it...
