Habring^2: My first foray into independent watchmaking
It’s also my first chronograph. When I purchased an Explorer 124270, which has dominated my wrist since September, I realized I had little need for my Hermès H08. So I traded that lovely timepiece in for the Habring^2 Chrono-Felix monopusher. What attracted me to this brand was the relative rarity, the unique story behind the watchmaker, and its (relatively) slim height of 12.6 mm. The Zenith El Primero A384 was another consideration.
Did I make the right choice? |

As someone who recently placed an order for a Habring² Chrono-Felix, I would say that you made the right choice.
What dial and hand configuration of the Chrono-Felix did you pick up? I ordered a salmon dial with heat-blued hands and breguet-style numerals. I have gone down all the rabbit holes that your question could send one down: videos, watch media, watchmaker/dealer/collector commentary, books about chronographs, textbooks on watchmaking, industry history, movement quirks, etc. Ultimately, only you can decide if you made the right choice for your watch. Does it fit? Do you like how it looks? Do you like manually winding your watch each day or before wearing? |

You made a great choice. Beautiful designs, terrific people by all accounts, and fabulous watch finishing at that price point. Congrats!

Great choice! I don't have H08 but it is also a very nice versatile watch. I bought my Habring2 for the reasons you listed. Very happy with the decision.

Thank you! It's a limited edition called the COS ZM. From the manufacturer:
"This COS ZM chronograph you may have noticed is completely without pushers. The Habring's Crown Operated System enables the user to start, stop, and reset the chronograph completely through the crown. ZM, or Zentraler Minutenzähler refers to the chronograph minutes accompanying the chronograph seconds on the central axis/canon pinion." |
