2 tones vs steel

Hi,
I’m trading my sea-dweller 2 tones (steel and gold) for a Sky-dweller steel, blue dial.
In your opinion, is this a downgrade or upgrade?
Thanks for your input.

Welcome to the forum.

Is this a straight up trade or is there some extra money involved?

I prefer the complications of the SkyD so imho it’s an upgrade.
The material of which a Rolex is made doesn’t make it better or worse.
Just personal preference. I like the TT GMT line very much and have the CHNR and 116713 whilst many prefer the steel BLRO or BLNR.

Rolex are all finished the same whereby a Patek clearly differentiates the level of finishing between SS entry level i.e. Aquanaut vs a PPC.

Some money is involved as my SD is a 2021 and the Sky is a 2023. Roughly 5k difference.

Depends on the use case. I personally would do this because i like the SkyD more than the SD. But if you dive regularly, the sky isn’t usefull for that.

I don’t dive and have more use for 2 time zones than for a deep see experience. Thanks for your input.

I wore a TT Sub for 15 years. IMO a SS model is more versatile than a TT. TT is better in a larger collection.
A SkyDweller is a much more advanced movement and in its own league over any diver. How that design plays in your own personal style is probably the biggest factor.

It’s a reasonable trade. Just going to throw this one out there. If you like TT for the same money you can get a TT SkyDweller.

I find that the Skydweller is a cool watch, but looks too large on every guy who has one. So, for me, not a good trade, unless you have a very large wrist.

The Bluesy rules - it’s a classic that should be a part of any complete collection.

All other TTs can go to hell.

I really enjoy my blue SkyD. Feels amazing on the wrist. I don’t get the size comments unless ine has a tiny wrist. Never let the watch wear you.
A few years ago I found a mint TT Sub w black face and picked it up. I just couldn’t connect with it, and I tried hard.
