Journe on bracelet or strap?
I always felt that journe belongs on a strap, so never paid attention to the bracelets. I don't consider myself a PM bracelet guy, but after sizing my wife's tank normale yg for my wrist, the heft feels kinda nice. anyone have any journe on the bracelet? Im assuming they are a pretty rare breed.

I personally don’t own a Journe on any bracelet but it is tempting. It’s certainly very rare and probably quite practical if you live in a humid climate for example. It will cost an arm and a leg but I think it’s a cool move.

The PM ones are indeed an arm and a leg. But the stainless steel one is actually not very bad at a little over $10k. The real issue with the bracelet is that the watch needs to be sent back to Geneva if you want to swap into strap. Not even Miami can do it. I inquired about the platinum one not long ago and was told that the manufacture does not have capacity to swap bracelet as of now. |

Tokyo Boutique have the ability to swap back into strap. They have a watchmaker on staff.
Didn't even realize stainless steel was an option. The precious bracelet does cost an arm and a leg |

It is nice to be able to do it at the boutique. I was surprised when I was told that it has to go back to Geneva and they don’t even have time to do it now. |

Personal opinion - skip Journe altogether

Interesting, thought it would be a simple swap. If it needs to be sent out not sure I'm gonna go down that path

I will say the bracelet is very comfortable and very well done. It's excellent. My math was that I loved it, but I also loved my watches on a strap. There wasn't a real delta in enjoyment or looks between the two choices, they are different but both great. So that's what made the price a factor. As the boutique person suggested, I got another watch. At the time I looked, the pt bracelet alone was about the cost of a pt DD...and the president bracelet is also excellent as you know. |

The bracelet is just a flex. I personally feel like every single FPJ would look better on a strap.

Both is always the best answer. Bracelet model and then procure some fun straps made for it too.

Yea I feel that the strap version is still the way to go, especially if it needs to go to Geneva for swapping. I suppose it was more that i was surprised how much I liked the feel of my wife's Cartier. I guess the more obvious answer for PM bracelet watch is a president

Who makes the bracelets? I assume not Gay Freres.

I have a line sport in precious metal - it’s heavy but after a few weeks, I got used to it and funnily enough, I went to try on some Rolex watches afterward and they felt like entry level seikos because of how light and ‘loose’ they felt. I even tried on a platinum day date and although comparable, it still wasn’t on the same level.
Idk if that makes sense but wearing Journe in PM is in a league of its own to me. |

I've worn friend's watches with the bracelet during events and things to try them. They are as excellent as their price is grand

I like my manual winds and microrotors on straps, automatics on bracelets. I apply the same philosophy to my FPJ wishlist :)

My Octa Auto, back from service today, and on a brand-new khaki-green strap. You can tell it's the original series becaus parts of the 5 and 7 are still visible, and the bezel is slightly thicker than the new version.
Just beautiful.

Lovely watch! I presume yours is a 42 mm. Those have the thicker bezels.

The more recent reissue is offered in either 40 or 42, and I was shown a current 42mm side-by side with my watch, and it was pointed out to me that my watch has a thicker bezel than the 42mm version does.

Bracelet verse leather strap comes down to personal taste. For me I love the look of FP’s on a strap. To my eyeballs it looks like the perfect combo. |

Thank you and I agree, which is just as well because the bracelets are out of my reach, financially.

Thank you kindly. It's been away for two-and-a-half months, and I'd sort-of forgotten how much I love it.
