Real LeMans Daytona?
Was lucky enough to see Tom Kristensen today at Goodwood FOS wearing his Daytona Panda. Seeing that he has won 9x LeMans 24hrs do we think this could be a special Rolex given to the winners on the podium?
Regardless it’s a nice piece for sure. P.S many many Rolex on show at Goodwood today. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Stands a damn good chance, wouldn’t you say?
Funny story from 2013 24hr Daytona winner Jim Norton, He took the Daytona he won to a service centre to get it serviced, 24hrs Daytona engraving on the caseback and all. The service centre in Tampa Bay refused to work on it because it must have been fake LOL… when he mentioned he’d been given it by the president of Rolex the jeweller laughed at him point blank hahaha |

I think it’s a 116500 … nothing special … other than hard to get …

Lemans has solid sub dials. It's a panda. This isn't a panda.

MotoGP Legend Kevin Schwantz is there. He is sporting what looks like a gold Daytona on a NATO style strap. One of the first Daytonas I ever saw was on the wrist of Kevin’s dad, a gold Zenith era one on leather strap. He may have borrowed it from his father.

For us common folk, the only way to get our hands on a Le Mans Daytona without breaking the bank is to get custom dial and hands and install it onto an SS Daytona.
The Le Mans Daytona looks so good, and I’m not even a fan of Daytona. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

OP is not talking about the 100th anniversary LeMans 126529LN. He’s talking about the regular production Daytonas that are engraved on the case back and given to the winners.

All his watches are. Either from Le Mans or the President of Rolex. Many of them has a thank you message on the back. Seen them.

I saw an article at some point that he was given his Limited issue W/G LeMans Daytona as he is a Rolex Ambassador and no doubt probably that specific watch because he's won the race 9 times which I believe is still the record.....

I feel like this post has gone way way over the head of most people here.
see words "Le Mans Daytona"... think only of 126529LN.... What's on Tom's wrist in the OP is neither a 126529LN nor a "normal/nothing special" 116500LN... His watch is a very special watch indeed, and one that no amount of waiting or spending at an AD will get you... |

Thanks, Agree waiting in a AD waiting list is one thing. Winning an actual Lemans 24 hours is a little more tricky. Super limited and well earned. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
