NWA: Yellow OP
Just acquired the 36mm Oyster Perpetual from a dealer in HK
First Rolex in a while -- and feels great. The yellow really stands out on its own and feels unique amongst a sea of blue dials. I've noticed that from afar, it has a honeycomb / almost salmonesque appearance while up close it feels like a mango yellow - great daily for the warm sunny weeks! While i've always admired the watch itself, i must admit I was hesitant about biting the bullet because I wasn't sure how often I'd be able to pull off the color, but I'm happy to report that it pairs well with all manner of skin tones and clothing choices. |

Yeah that one is the most expansive of the bunch. Very cool color. Congrats!
Also OP36 is the sweet spot with regards to the dial layout and the hour makers have bevels on the four sides of the markers. The Op41 only has bevels on the 2 long sides and doesn’t shine as bright. Plus the bigger dial has more lost real estate than the 36 |

Congrats. Just like another member said: the colorful OP looks better in a 36mm or small as the 41mm is just too much, which makes it like a toy. Unless you have 8inch wrist

I would buy the yellow in 41. I've had 36 explorer before and while it fits well I end up selling because it's an outliner in my collection of 39 to 41mm watches and just seems very out of sync somehow.
My other outliner is the SD43 but somehow that one doesn't give the same vibe. Like it's big because it should be big. Anyway congrats on the OP36 Yellow! It looks great! Sent from my SM-S918U1 using Tapatalk |

Interesting take. My collection is also made up of 40mm+ watches so I wanted to diversify a bit with a 36mm. When i was deciding between 41mm and 36mm, i felt that 36mm is the “traditional” Rolex size and the yellow had a vintage aesthetic to it given the Stella homage so the combination of the size and dial made more sense to me. When I look at the green OP, I think about it as more of a modern color and will spring for the 41mm when it comes. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

I have the red and the 3 discontinued colours in 41mm
Never thought of any of them as limited in terms of when I can wear them or what they go with For sure they draw attention compared to a white or black dial But they are also very simple watches and as such never feel too loud or showy Your yellow 36mm looks great Out of all the dial colours I find the yellow to be the one that divides opinion the most As you said it seems to change appearance radically and I love your description of it as 'mango' I've always thought of it as mustard (and the coral red as ketchup) but I'm going with mango form now on The red green and yellow also look like peppers when lined up together |

Congrats, OP. I had it in 41mm but after the initial excitmemt, I found the colour difficult to wear. It was my second attempt at a yellow watch (first was a Breitling Seawolf), but to no avail. More power to you, looks great on your wrist.

In 36 it’s more doable. Maybe it didn’t work as a 41 as it was just too much yellow real estate on that bigger size

Congratulations. I missed the boat on the yellow. I had already picked up Turquoise and Coral. Yellow was next but it was discontinued. I got the Celebration instead.
