Incoming..14 Years Later My DJ Gets A Friend!

Hello all!

It's been many, many, MANY years since I've been active on the forum but I've always checked in from time to time. I bought my Datejust 36mm from DavidSW back in 2010 and it's been my daily wearer ever since, literally never leaving my wrist.

I'm excited to say I've added a Tudor to my humble collection. I've been keeping my eye on releases for the last decade and there's been near hits but I always seemed to feel the urge to hold out a bit longer.

Most recently it was the release of the Tudor Black Bay GMT. I just knew the smaller size was going to put it over the top for me. After searching for opportunities to see it "in the metal" since its release I finally came across one. And to my surprise, it didn't sing to me the way i thought it would.

I tried on the Black Back 54 on rubber immediately after, and there was no turning back! It's crazy how much the watch buying experience has changed since the purchasing of my Rolex (stock, price "wiggle room", general approach of the ADs) but I'm very excited to have something new to smile at when I check the time. Now I have to decide daily, which I will wear!

A good problem to say the least. Hope you all have been well, happy to be "back".

Thanks all! They really are a perfect pair that cover's any and all occasions for me :)

I also love how the Tudor feels on the wrist, its got visual presence but it's easy to forget it's there with how light it wears an how the rubber strap holds it in place so perfectly. Very happy indeed!

Congrats, looks great! I'm very curious how the strap was cut and what it looks like (only one one of the straps?) and if they were able to keep the clasp centered after cutting. Could you please share the experience and any pictures?

The strap has some pre set cut points on the back but I didn't need anything cut off. I don't have a large wrist but the clasp has so many adjustment points (which can easily be adjusted on a hot day by really micro amounts which is awesome) that I did need anything to be cut.

clasp sits pretty perfectly for me, maybe slightly off centre but barely, i think cutting it would actually move it more towards centre if you needed it to be.

interesting. I'd love to try one but havent seen at the AD. I bought one on bracelet. I will say that I dont feel like the T-Fit gives a ton of adjustment capability, especially relative to a 6 digit sub.

May I ask your wrist size?

I love the rubber too! I wanted to make sure my pair were both unique from one another and that strap took it over the top for me.

I love my concentric dial as well, they discontinued it not too long after I got it. Makes it that much more special :) I also work in music so the fact that it looks like a record sold me haha

Sounds like you ended up with a beautiful piece! I do love this dial a lot and have never seen another one in person, other than mine. Feels unique!
