Pam 111 for 233?

Hey, looking for some input from members. I currently have a pam 111, J serial, so sandwich dial. I have had my eye on a 233 for several years, but have always talked myself out of it because of redundancy. I know they are overall different watches, cases, complication, etc., but the 233 almost feels like a more "complete" or "upgraded" version of a base luminor marina, and I am concerned that once I get the 233, I may not want to wear my 111.

So, would you keep the 111 and add a 233, or sell 111 and put some cash towards a 233?

I can't tell whether I would miss the 111 if I had a 233 or not. I guess ultimately I can add a 233 and see if I need both, but has anyone gone through something similar?

Thanks!

Keep both, variety is the spice of life :) I have 2 Luminars, but one is a PVD case vs the SS on the 111.

My 233 has essentially made the other Panerai in my collection obsolete. They get much less wrist time. 372, 416, 390, 380, 250. Part of the issue is the Rolex side of the collection.

I would put the cash towards the 233. They will be too similar imo. I’ve had both. If you want a second Pam, maybe add a rad or submersible

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I think maybe I'll add for now, and then sell if I feel I am not wearing the 111 anymore. Probably the safest bet.

This is a good call. Suspect you’ll love the 233 and that’ll be that, but worst case scenario, room for both in the collection!

Good call.

Later down the line, prob sell the 111 and get a radiomir to complement.
Something like a 45mm pam183, if size matters.

I think the 233 is the only Panerai worth owning.

When I bought mine, I had a list of several others (372/127/690) I wanted to add to the collection. However since I got the 233, I have not felt the need to get any more.

I would be surprised if you kept the 111 once you own the 233.

Add the 233 and see how you feel.
Personally, the 233 would do it for me and I'd sell the 111.

I would definitely keep the beautiful 111! The 233 has the GMT function which I don't like while 111 is a timeless classic (Bettarini 44 , dial sandwich).
