Brushed PCL on Smurf
I contacted rolliworks about doing this. It isn’t very expensive. Any real downsides of doing it to my smurf?
Has anyone already done it? I just don’t like the flash of the polished links. |

Polished PCL's are a hallmark of PM references. I have a 116618 and love them! |

OP, there was a thread here a month or two ago with pictures of a SS Sub that had the blue dial and bezel from the white gold Sub. I don’t recall the title, but I’m sure if you search you’ll be able to find it. It will give you an idea how it would look. I think it would look great if you brushed it, but it’s not my watch or money so that’s easy for me to say. Another person on here had their yellow gold center links brushed on a two-tone Sub and I thought that looked great as well. |

Personally, I do not like PCL's and have brushed all of mine.

I like PCL’s but if you don’t just brush them. Can be easily reversed.
It’s a very easy DIY and takes less than 10 minutes with a Scotch Brite

A brushing wheel is not needed, all it takes is a few straight aligned strokes with a scotch brite. Bracelet needs to be removed from the watch obviously.

The only “downside” as I see it would be losing a little gold in the brushing process. Granted, it’s not going to amount to much but I personally wouldn’t go that route. That said, I prefer the look of brushed over polished all day!

Obviously your watch and you can do what you please. I would not, as I am a fan of OEM Rolex watches and over time the the PLC's do have a tendency to some what fade or calm down a bit. The Smurf is a beautiful watch so why make it look like something that it is not. I would wear it as it is or I would move it for something that works better for me. Let us know what you decide.

I feel the PCL is what sets out this special sub from the others. I would not have bought my 116619 without pcl.
