This has been on their website for at least the last 18 months and only applies to AD’s and not corporately owned boutiques. Should be pretty minimal impact considering they are trying to eliminate AD’s and the ADs already get slim pickings as far as inventory.

Of course he’s gonna say BS like this! How else is TPG or the rest of the grey dealers justify the mad prices they are charging for a simple steel watch? This is just a way of legitimising their business model. “Hey, AP is allowing the ADs to do it, so we are just tagging along for the ride!”

From my experience, the corporate owned boutique in Malaysia has been nothing but superb. If you want a watch, be nice, be patient and the watch will arrive. Might not get all that one wants, but you do not leave completely empty handed.

That disclaimer has been on their website forever... just more IG hype.

I also don’t see prices on their website. Will boutiques do this? I assume market prices will fall as a result?

Hm, indeed, everything is "Price on Request" now. Still skeptical that the boutiques will move to a "market price" model.

I saw that on instagram too. also yes everything is price on request now. what's happening? if boutiques move to a market price model it would be even more ridiculous than the Marvel collaboration.

I didn’t believe a word of this until I saw the post above about “Price on Request”. Certainly seems like something might be a brewing…

To see your pricing, select your location and currency at the bottom of the page

That doesn’t change the price on request thing.

Nope. Very odd. I assume the boutiques would keep msrp or it would be chaotic. If they let AD set their price I assume they would try to close them down quickly. How many ADs still exist that are not company owned?

Guess it will drive prices down on the secondary marked, as there is no longer a financial incentive to flip. But now completely out of reach for the average enthusiast (assuming market prices is the new direction)

I was with AP London all afternoon. I have a watch coming in Feb for my wife and specifically asked about pricing and nothing out of the ordinary was mentioned.

I'd say the pricing or lack thereof on the site is more likely a function of general site changes, perhaps a general price increase, but nothing nefarious.

Prices were available on the website two days ago. Now everything is showing as "Price on Request". I think either prices are going up soon, or they don't want the prices listed as a reference point so that AD's can be more comfortable selling at higher prices.

Quick PSA: Talked with a US boutique earlier today, and they are aware of the current rumors - at least for the boutiques there is nothing to it. They are not going to start selling above MSRP. R-E-L-A-X...

I speak today with my AD who are AP Boutique and told me they cannot sell above MRSP.
Only AD who are not under AP can do it

Why trust a source who doesn’t even know how to spell “to?”
