How many watch model is in your waitlist
For those whose AD has a waitlist/wishlist how many watches do you ask your AD to look out for? I ask for 5 and expecting maybe one or two in a 12 month time frame. But sometimes I also feel like widening the net for models that I'm interested in but not my priority, like an OP41/36. My thinking is that if I put too many models in then I'm not focused on the ones I really desire.
Currently I've asked my AD for - Sub 41 no date - Sub 41 with green bezel - Sub WG with blue bezel - GMT root beer - DJ41 RG Wimbledon jubilee My spend history with this AD - DJ31 3 years ago - BB58 - Explorer TT |

I only focus on 2 watches at a time. Once one of them get fulfilled then I'll work on adding the next one.

I have 2 Datejusts that I'm waiting for. One for my wife, and one for myself. I expect to get them pretty soon. I also asked for a GMTII Batman on Jubilee. I was told there is a chance, but it could be over a year. |

5, no previous spend, was encouraged by sales associate. Mostly professional watches, but some are for family members.

I only ever ask for one at a time to show I am serious and not just interested in what’s hot. Then I ask to see a few others should they be available, “just to see”.
This has resulted in me getting what I want with shorter than average waits for both my #1 watch as well as those in which I might have interest. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

One. I've been on two lists in the past, but it's usually one or none.

Not on the waitlist for anything. Might grab a Yachtmaster or DJ if I found the right configuration.
I've really been enjoying various micro brands lately. Still own and love Rolex but the whole buying experience and "hype" has been very off putting the last couple years...

Totally agree w you- currently waiting for nothing and not enjoying the hobby as much as in the past. Upside is getting to know more about independents and smaller brands , but even that has its own challenges. Fortunately, i have a large enough collection to keep me satiated for now . Two. My AD will let preferred customers be on no more than two lists, regular customers can be on just one.

Are folks who only put 1 in their list on a waitlist, like a real queue, whereas folks like me put more because it's just a wish list and it basically just let the SA know what I'm interested in, and if he happens to come across one he would know to grab it before another SA takes it?

After picking up the Sky Dweller the other day, all I have left is a couple of Daytonas.

Picked up a CHNR on Saturday. Now focused on 41mm Submariner Date. I retire in 4 years and have been guaranteed a Sky-Dweller to mark that occasion.
