Thinking of putting my GMT on a nato… used to wear a yachet master and sun on a nato just not sure on this….??

Variety is the spice of life....

For me personally, a Rolex on NATO is too much. A wonderfully fitted premium rubber strap looks pretty good, but I think the NATO cheapens the watch a tad, especially a GMT.

I really like some Omegas and Tudor's on NATO though, especially Erikas Originals.

If the change brings you a smile though, that's all that matters. Go for it!

NATO strap great but imo that colour nato just doesn’t go with the watch.

Because the bezel is bicolor it looks better with a single color NATO. If you want to wear a striped or busier NATO try the LN insert.

Hmmm, wrong nato for the Pepsi, I think. When I had my 1675 on a G10, I chose the true Bond (regimental) strap, which worked quite well.

I suspect yours would work well on a silver or black G10 or something with red and blue in it (though I always think they look a bit too flash for me).

Nice color choice of NATO my friend.

I love how NATOS bring new life to watches, but I've never liked the "fold and tuck" thing. I prefer a Hybrid if you will (which is why I pay a king's ransom for Erika's O..lol).

Why don't you just try it instead of posting on a forum? It literally takes one minute to make the change. I did on both my Tudor and Omega, hated both, went back to the bracelets. You may like it.

Try a different color. Maybe a light gray or navy. Regardless, a single-color strap will probably work better.

Friend was wearing his new sub on a NATO while we were on vacation and it just didn't look right to me.

Looks fine on a nato band to me and I’ve always found them very comfortable on a watch that isn’t too top heavy with a very thin back such as the GMT Master and Explorer II. If you like it that’s all that matters.

I just don’t like how the spring bars seem so vulnerable on a NATO strap. I’d easily go for rubber, especially a Rubber B or Oysterflex, though.

They’re not for everybody, but I rather like the look of the fold and tuck. This one is a Phoenix strap (the original G10 maker, I think), which I quite like. It was something like $10!

I’ve heard about Erika’s but never checked them out — share a photo?!

I’m trying to get used to a Pepsi insert too at the moment, so I’m wearing mine back on the bracelet at the moment.

The NATO as an alternative is a nice option. On my Rolex watches I prefer the bracelet. The design and appearance are so much better on the bracelet to me. A vintage Rolex on NATO looks better than a modern model but I still prefer the bracelet.

The older gmt (or any of the older Rolex models for that matter) look better in nato in my opinion. The lugs on the more “modern” references just look too bulky even if you paired it with a heavier/thicker nato. Just personal opinion of course.

Rolex at one time did sell Admiralty Grey Nato bands and some mil watches were issued with them instead of bracelets I believe. Of course these were vintage mil watches. I think they look proper on neo vintage or vintage professional models.

I'm not a fan of modding watches, but I love seeing people experiment with straps. I think I'm a little inconsistent, there.

Also, I suspect that we dislike non-OEM straps in proportion to the number of watches we own. If I have ten watches, then I'll get enough variation with all the different OEM bracelets. If I have just one watch, I'll probably want a little strap-action.
