I think the ROO time only and Code 38mm blue are both home runs. Having a RO along with these two in a collection could make a solid trio and many folks very happy.

IMO the releases (and I may be in the minority here) are a bit of a swing and a miss...
The 38mm codes are nice but they do strike me as a bit of a fashion watch... Slap Michael Kors on it and no one would bat an eye Code 11.59s are a cool change but the price is becoming eye-watering... No quick strap change, no full bracelet, no secondary strap and not a true dress watch either but basically $52k all in... (Seems to be the new AP norm). 43mm is interesting but not a fan of the rubber bezel. Over time I'm sure it'll look a bit shiny and the face seems empty without the Chrono hands... The other complications are very cool but just frankly out of my reach in addition to being unobtainable for any non-seven figure spender, so I won't bother even commenting further Clear indication IMO that AP is looking to really start people off at a $40k minimum "entry watch" |

Honestly, does a time only ROO really need to be 14.4mm thick?

After thinking about it for half a day, I think I love ALL the code 11's that were released today. Ever since the starwheel launched, AP has delivered hit after hit with the code. all 6 SS models were great last year. the initial two 38mm were ok, but today's releases were all amazing. from the baby blue 38 to the black/gold/ceramic, to the RG blue and RG green models, the future of the code lineup looks great. I will def pick up another code sometime in the future.

I echo that, and why make it 43mm?
42mm would have been just fine. I get why they slimmed the 44mm line into 43mm but I still dig much more the 42mm offshore (that being said maybe the plan is to move all offshores to 43mm over time, in which case I'll probably stop buying offshores) |

I know I'm in the minority but id have loved it if they increased the WR for the code a little bit. The dress/sport look AP and patek have been coming out with lately would be nice for a wear anywhere watch

From date position, logo, empty dial and no needed size and proportions that will with empty dial visually look bad on majority of wrists, time only ROO is just one poorly designed watch.

Can someone remind me how AP discontinues watches? They just show up on legacy section of website?

There is usually significant lag between the watch becoming near impossible to acquire and it moving to the legacy section. E.g., I was told last year that there's no chance to get the 43mm ceramic music edition, but it's still on the website 6 months later. It will disappear eventually after the last one in the system has been delivered to a customer.

is the rubberclad bezel rubber inside and out or is it a regular bezel encased in rubber?

While I would like the ROO to be a bit thinner, the 14.4mm are in line with a lot of other dive watches, thicker than a Sub, but less than a Seadweller or 42mm Planet Ocean. Nothing crazy. Shrinking the ROO significantly would really start blurring the line between ROO/RO, which AP probably wants to avoid.

considering how much time it takes to create one, i wouldn't be surprised. Kind of bummed tho, because my SA said if I wanted an DBW, it would be about the right time now...
