Tudor Black Bay 58 GMT
For some reason this watch really speaks to me. It was introduced earlier this year and was wondering if anyone has seen this at an AD yet. For those who haven't seen it yet, here is a pic.

I’m personally not a fan of the guilt treatment on the Tudor 58s…had a black 58 when they first released and sold it not long after. Now I’ve got a blue 58 and absolutely love it.
If it were my dollars I’d wait a year or two when they’ll release a non-guilt 58 GMT. Some folks really like the gold, though! They are very nice watches. |

Before you purchase, ask yourself if Tudor released a "Pepsi" version next year on a five link (Opaline Dial of course).
Would you keep the "Coke" or try to trade/sell? |

I like everything about it except the gilt marker and bezel treatment. I think just standard white lumed indices would have worked better.

Aesthetically, not a fan of the gilt accents, but it's certainly a stellar offering. I'm simply waiting for hopefully other dial/color combo with 5 link option and I'm in. |

Yes, I saw it at AD and tried it on (bracelet version). It's AWESOME. Great dimensions.
I'm not a huge fan of gilt like most, but imo it worked very well on this watch. Mainly because the burgandy almost looked brown, so in some lighting the bezel almost looked like a Root Beer, and the gilt accented those colors very nicely. If I asked for it I'd probably get it pretty quickly as I have good spending history with this AD, but I'm holding off for the following reasons as of now: (1) Still debating whether to get this or reacquire a 16710. (2) The inevitable Tudor price crashes after hype wears off, I might be able to find this 20% off MSRP in a year. (3) Maybe Tudor introduces more bezel colors in the future. I'd still prefer a traditional Pepsi bezel (4) It's a new movement, we know what happened with Tudor's last GMT movement. So maybe waiting is prudent. |
