What a great memory you created. My father as he was passing said that when he gets through the chemotherapy treatment that he would ask me to find him a Rolex. But he wouldn’t let me buy it before hand as he thought it would jinx him. The poor guy never made it, so no Rolex.
Your father is special and I am so so thrilled to hear this worked out for him and you!

My immediate reaction included some profanity! Anyway, WOW !!! What a great story and I am so HAPPY that your father now has his Polar on his wrist. May just become the most special watch to you.

He absolutely loved my polar, its legibility and lume, and size and figured that was the one for him.

I called my AD (who’d sold me my polar in early 2022 after a 15 month wait), and explained the situation. Booked an appointment so my dad could try on the sub, DJ, bunch of other stuff. Nope, Polar was the one! AD gave him the hard news — could take several months or even more at this time. I pulled my SA aside to make the obvious point that pops didn’t have a year to wait, which AD acknowledged but apologized that allocations were a trickle and committed.

I understood and started quickly shopping BNIB from the Trusted Sellers.

Two weeks later, just as I was about the pull the trigger, bam! AD called and said ‘I got one for him.”

Pops and I were elated and he rolled in, got the king treatment and a brand new polar! More father son pix to follow!

Congratulations. It's a great feeling to be able to give/gift a watch for a parent. I just bought a Rolex for my mom too so I can relate. Best of wishes for both of you.
