I thought it might be nice to post some HT pictures and see what other folks are doing for HTs as well!

One of those side panels is a hidden door that leads to the equipment room.

The screen is a Stewart Cinecurve that can mask for screen sizes 2.35:1 and 1.78:1 down to 4:3 and some other sizes in between.

The speakers are three Revel Salon2s in the front, behind the microperf screen, and six Gem2s for surrounds hidden in columns.

The projector is a Sim2 Lumis. There is a Crestron remote system.

There is a ton of equipment covering all the necessary bases for movies, TV, and gaming, and even a high end PC gaming system that I built myself.

Here are two screen shots I took tonight. They are in 1.78:1, so they don't show off the full size of the screen when it is set to 2.35:1, as it is in the picture in the first post.

Cameron decided to film and release Avatar in 1.78:1 instead of 2.35:1, thus I would lose some of the screen image if I expanded the movie to 2.35:1. Most Blu-Rays are 2.35:1, in which case the screen can be expanded and an anamorphic lens can slide out and expand the image to fill the 2.35:1 screen. This process also gets rid of the black bars on the top and bottom of the screen at the same time.

Heck, I'll add a third, but this one didn't come out as well I think. I should mount a tripod and take some really clear pictures. Also, I think taking pictures of CGI isn't quite as clean as taking pictures of close ups of people's faces so you can see the details in the skin.

I was going to post mine but not now! Amazing room!! Revel speakers are incredible. I have more of an open media room with Dynaudio Contours in the front and their Audience series on the side and rear.

Thanks queuec. Yours is nice looking too! Very custom. Would like to see pics of your equipment room...mine is just sitting in the cabinets....but i do have cooling units and an ac outlets running into the main rack. one of the things i want to do next is install a better baffling system in the ac. from how I saw my buddy's studio constructed, its a pretty simple operation to add shaped lengths to the ductwork....

Those are pretty sick HT setups fellas, I'm just a lowly all Sony guy, not even worth the cam power to take the pics after the first two...

With as much TV as we watch, I really should do something similar. Hmmmn, maybe to the family room, given it's just two of us and there isn't a "family" yet ;)

Wow! How did I miss this thread? Your home theaters are spectacular. I have a system set up unobtrusively in my formal living room. I spent most of my money on a Spendor speaker system, using S9e speakers for the fronts, S6e's for the rears and a C5e center channel. My subwoofer is by SVS.

I was testing the subwoofer one day with some sea mine explosions on the Das Boot DVD. Suddenly, a plumber who was working upstairs ran down the stairs and outside looking for the vehicle that he thought had hit the house. It was hilarious.

We've just got the 50" TV in the living room and these days they cost less than a Daytona service.

That is one sweet set up

I bet it cost more than my entire watch collection and that's assuming you had a room/basement to start with.

It was a pricey for the build alone, but when you throw in the equipment as well it was stratospheric. Funny enough, there are so many theaters out there that are multiples of what I spent, so I guess unless you are Steven Speilberg or George Lucas, someone always has something a lot better. I think that for the price I spent I have a well rounded intimate theater setup that is better than most theaters in my size and price range when you consider the aesthetic, sound, and video qualities.

As a plus, I also have a very nice vinyl setup as part of the system and a nice collection of Mobile Fidelity collectable albums, which is a blessing in today's world of "loudness war" remasters.

Hopefully it will win something at CEDIA this year, as it was submitted as one of the contestants by the designer. I won't win anything directly AFAIK, but it is a nice thing to say about it if I ever sell the house...
